Reviews
Thanks again for organising our holiday, we thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely use you again for future visits to Majorca. Son Julia was an outstanding hotel, one of nicest we have stayed in.
How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:
Service: 5
Food: 5
Cleanliness: 5
Value for money: 4
Sleep quality: 4
Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes
Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? The hotel was fantastic, set in a great location and with great swimming pools set in the grounds of hotel. The staff could not do enough for us, especially Laura and Chiara. We got a late checkout on departure day which allowed us to use the facilities for most of the day. The food was outstanding with lots of choices at lunch and dinner. The only slight negative was that there was no separate bar in the hotel. The bedroom was luxurious with plenty storage and a great bathroom.
Regards
Oh my what a fabulous stay we had. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. It was exactly what we wanted for a short stay but could have stayed much longer. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The facilities were super, food excellent.
Could not fault it at all.
Thank you for all your help organising it for us.
Kind regards
Hi Henrik x This message comes with a huge thank you for everything you have arranged on our behalf which has contributed to a wonderful holiday x Chris’s birthday was brilliant and that’s thanks to you and Rural Hotels x As always Son Julia has not disappointed as we enjoy our last day x Please please do send details of the best places for us to write our reviews which you very much deserve x Regards
Everything was great, thank you
Son Julia:
5 - Service
5 - Food
5 - Cleanliness
5 - Value for money
5 - Sleep quality
Loved everything about the Son Julia (again).
The staff were very professional and at the same time very warm, relaxed and friendly
Llucmajor is not the prettiest of towns, but we would have no problem recommending the hotel to friends.
Carrossa:
5 - Service
4 - Food
5 - Cleanliness
4 - Value for money
4 - Sleep quality
We’ve given a 4 for food as we thought the evening menu was slightly limited in choices
We’ve given a 4 for value purely based on the fact that it was more expensive than the Son Julia which we enjoyed just as much, if not more.
We’ve given a 4 for sleep quality as the air-con in our room was nowhere near as efficient as the air-con in our kids’ room. The bed was incredibly comfy, it was just a little warm.
Otherwise, great hotel, and would have no issue recommending it to friends who would like the Carrossa type of set-up.
Other bits and bobs
We had lunch, then dinner the next day, at Son Barbassa, which was very nice.
We took the fast boat around Cabrera, snorkelled and saw the blue caves, great trip.
In Arta we ate in Cafe Parisien, and El Niu, both were great.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a booking at Sa Gripia, but it looked amazing.
In Llucmajor we ate in Contrabando, and Quina Brasa, both were great.
Great idea to book two hotels, we saw more of the island and the stay felt longer.
Thanks again
I have answered your questions below.
We will definitely return to Mallorca and we would gladly return to this hotel. It was ideal for a short break.

Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? The hotel was beautiful, spotless, really friendly staff. Pools and gardens were stunning and we had a wonderful stay. The only reason I gave a 4 for sleep quality was because I didn’t like the pillows but the bed was comfy and the room was perfect.
Hello there Henrik and Rural Hotels x This message comes in the form of a very big thank you for helping us secure our recent break at Son Julia Mallorca x Your prompt professionalism made it so easy and stress free x Your firm can be relied upon that's for sure x Also the extra arrangements which we enjoyed on our arrival evening were very much appreciated - you went above and beyond x Thank you once again and we'll be back to book through Rural Hotels again x Regards
Hi Henrike
I wanted to thank you so much for the help you gave me booking at the Son Julia hotel this August – we had the most amazing time. I took my mum on her first trip abroad for 8 years, and her first since she lost my dad. She had told me she would never go abroad again without him but this wedding in Mallorca meant she had to – and she had the most wonderful time at the hotel - it was just perfect!
So much so that I think we will make a trip to Mallorca an annual event.
With this in mind I wondered if you could recommend me (not urgent as I am thinking for next May or next summer)
Any other hotels similar to Son Julia
Villas for 8 people
Or maybe we will return to Son Julia!
Thank you so much again - we really had the most wonderful time.
Thank you so much!
Dear Henrik,
Please forgive us, Jacqueline, Georgina and I have been having such a wonderful time we have been neglecting our emails.
I’ll get on to the reviews very soon, but in the meantime please accept our heartfelt thanks for arranging our stay at Son Julia. It was beautiful, and you really worked magic in finding us such a place at short notice. We are completely in your debt.
Very best wishes, and thank you,
We have just got back from the most wonderful hotel stay at son Julia.

Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay?
Son Julia does not disappoint. The rooms are clean and tidy with everything you need for a relaxing stay.
The food is just pure class with excellent service, hospitality and friendliness.
It is a joy to have such amazing staff, everyone with smiles and helpfulness. The receptionists were fabulous arranging taxis and a spa afternoon. The spa treatment staff were also amazing and I cannot thank them enough .
All in all a fabulous stay and we will be back.
Henrik thank you again for arranging and arranging the taxi from the airport, it all worked seamlessly .
Hope to contact you again soon to arrange another holiday. Stay safe.
Hi Henrik
Got back yesterday from an unforgettable trip. A huge part of making the trip as memorable as it was was down to your recommendations in terms of accommodation, where to eat and the amazing meal at Son Julia.
We really are very appreciative of all your help.
If there is anywhere we can leave a public review about your services please do let us know.
We will definitely make contact the next time we are back on the island!
All the best
Hello Henrik,
Sorry for the very late reply!
Son Julia:
The fact that Son Julia is an old house with an old garden makes it feel old, real and historic. It was like traveling in time. It felt like a home, not a hotel at all. Due to COVID 19 we were almost alone there, which was amazing! We loved the room, the staff (Maria!) and the Location.
It was very near to Palma, so if you rent a car it s the perfect spot for daily roadtrips!
5/5 here too! Only thing: you only get a tiny bottle of water for free a day, I would love more, since everyone is here in summer.
Font Santa:
We loved it here! It is very peaceful, quiet and extremely pretty. The whole hotels design is modern and beautiful!
Our room was perfect, very clean and we got fresh bottles of water everytime we needed it, which is so important in summer.
The whole staff was friendly and professionell and we felt very welcome here.
A highlight was definitely the food. The breakfast was amazing and so pretty to look at!
Also the saltwater pools are perfect, we didn’t even want to go to the ocean the first days.
I would love to come back here!
5/5 for all!
Thank you for recommending these two hotels to us!
Greetings,
Hi Henrik!
We had a fabulous holiday.
Firstly Son Julia was absolutely perfect. We LOVED it.
5/5 for everything plus the most amazing pool and bar and such friendly service and so efficient and even remembered what drinks we liked for breakfast. Great English and lovely to chat to. Breakfast was fantastic!
Would not hesitate to recommend it and will 100% go again.
The only only negative was I think they should provide more water in the bedrooms for free! Oh, and the ideal would be a coffee machine in the room - that would make it even more perfect!
I will definitely contact you for our next stay at Son Julia.
Thx for all your help,
Hi Henrik
Had a great hols thanks.
Would definitely recommend both hotels.
Had a wonderful restful break in two locations. Son Julia very well placed for access to the amazing Es Trenc beach.
Room 11 at Sa Pedrissa is one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in. The design and view is sensational.

Best,
Hi Henrik, I’ve been meaning to write to you to thank you for all the help organising the holiday. Yes, the transfer was fine, very nice driver and found him OK although it was chaos at the airport when we arrived.
Son Julia was lovely and we ate there one night, and went into Palma for dinner on one night.
And then the 5 nights at Cas Curial was as peaceful and relaxing as ever.
So, once again, thank you so much, and we’re thinking about next June for coming back to Mallorca and I’ll be in touch.
Kind regards,
Thank you my friend. We have really enjoyed our break at both hotels. Our first visit to Son Julia was excellent. We will be in touch for a further visit to Majorca later. Thanks again,
Hi Henrik
Thanks for asking.
So far all good and I answered your questions below!
I would recommend personally Son Julia and specially Son Barbassa.
I really enjoyed my stay in Son Barbassa. Everyone was friendly, helpful and the hotel strikes a perfect balance between being a family friendly hotel and a ‘grown up’
Hotel. We loved the restaurant set up and the pool. We stayed in multiple rooms but the suites in the main building are the best for families. Also a big plus for their laundry service by the Kilo! So easy for travellers. We will go back!

Son Julia is a wonderful hotel. The staff is really what sets this hotel apart. The rooms are huge but be mindful that some are more updated than others. The breakfast is fantastic and the facilities are just perfect. The pool is large and stunning and the near the pool allows you to relax ! Margaritas and ice cream all nearby!! The hotel feels more like a luxury mansion with a few families rather than a hotel and we loved it.
For the rest Henrik you were wonderful ! I already have your details to someone last week! we will for sure pass on your details to friends.
Thanks

Hi, We have just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday at the Son Julia Hotel, Thank you so much. Kind regards
Hello Henrik, Thanks for organising our LARGE suite at Son Julia! I would give the hotel 5 for each of the categories mentioned and would consider a return visit to this hotel, probably to stay in a smaller suite as that one was outrageously big! We loved the pool, the staff were great and the food very good. We found the hotel a bit gloomy - it could do with a bit of an update and making a bit more friendly decor-wise but that would be our only negative. I hope this helps and will contact you again for future trips.
Hi Henrik, We had a lovely time at Son Julia and are already thinking about next year. Have you heard of a finca called Posada D'es Moli in Playa De Palma and if so what is your opinion of it. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5 Food: 4 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality:5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Dear Henrik, We had a lovely holiday thank you. We thought the hotel was wonderful . The staff, food and ambience was great and we had a beautiful room with a huge bathroom which made a welcome change to boxing around in a small area. The gardens and pools were a delight, if a little chilly!! Unfortunately, they had not opened up the pool bar which meant we had to ring for drinks etc which was a shame to some extent as we had 4 glorious days of weather. However we understood that to have staff around the pool when the weather is changeable is perhaps not sustainable. The only thing I would say against the hotel is that it is not suitable for very young children and we both felt that they should have an age restriction. We had 3 families staying at the same time as us all with children under 10 and the noise as they went racing around the hotel was very intrusive. This could have been partly down to the fact that the parents did not seem to have any control, but due to the marble floors and high ceilings the noise reverberated around the whole hotel. Even the staff were pleased to see them leave!!! We found the local town of Llucmajor a great place in the evening and ate there every other night to ring the changes. It had a real Spanish feel which we enjoyed and we found some good restaurants and bars which made a change to the peacefulness of the hotel restaurant. We hired a car for 4 days and saw much of the island and I think that if the weather is changeable this is a must because there is not enough to do at the hotel and any way it is great to see a place you are visiting. Thank you for the help you gave us in finding this great hotel. So as far as your questions are concerned: Service: 5, Food:5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep Quality: 5. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend. Kind regards
Hi Henrik, All in all we had a fantastic time and we would definitely go back to the hotel. Upon arrival the hotel certainly has the wow factor and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Son Julia. The star of the show was the food which was exceptional and we would highly recommend it. The rooms were clean and the groundsmen attended to the gardens daily such that the hotel was always well presented. For those wishing to stay in a rural finca within striking distance of Palma (15 mins in a taxi) this is the ideal place to stay. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 4 - food and beverage staff were amazing but the hotel receptionists were new and mistakes were made, including booking the wrong 'Tast' in Palma despite me telling them which one we wanted and showing them their website. I think they were new in. Food: 5 - not far off Predi Son Jaumell quality in our view. Staff here were fantastic, especially Maria. Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4 - it's pricy compared to what you get at other places. Predi Son Jaumell and Font Santa have much better rooms than the Son Julia and i felt for the money the rooms would be better (rest of hotel good though). Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes for those wanting to be away from it but with easy access to Palma, which is exactly what we wanted. The hotel was perfect for us in this respect and I would recommend it. Regards,

Hi Henrik, We absolutely loved our stay at Son Julia! Beautiful and well maintained facility set in a nice and quiet rural location and yet quite close to Palma. Great breakfast buffet and delicious food at the restaurant. Luminous and spacious room. Beautiful pool. We had a very nice and relaxing stay and we would definitely go back! Service: 5 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4. Everything was great but there are probably some margins for improvements, especially regarding the infrastructure. For example, the Internet connection was generally very slow (despite the wifi signal coverage being good). And the water drainage in our room was a bit slow and seemed clogged. Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Definitely Thanks,
Henrik - thanks for sorting out. We very much enjoyed our holiday - despite being a bit hot. The hotel was lovely - the suite was amazing and the twin room worked well. The quality and cleanliness of the hotel was superb and having a separate adults pool meant we had this to ourselves. The food was excellent but expensive (330 euros for the 4 of us) which put us off a couple of nights - we eat in 3 times. Service was mixed - the reception and breakfast ladies just brilliant but the pool side bar and male manager we found cocky and arrogant, although didn't really spoil anything. While there we were directed to Es Pinaret to eat which was fantastic although a bit of a journey. Hope this helps!
Dear Henrick, We had a wonderful stay we rated it very highly and gave a 5 star on all accounts.
