Alcudia is located in the north of the island, just 2 km from Puerto Alcudia. The historical centre of the old town Alcudia is a walled city, which offers Roman ruins, and a wonderful Sunday market. Its narrow streets are lined with interesting shops, packed with traditional goods. Inside the walls there are several popular restaurants and bistros famous for good home-cooked traditional food. Close to the old town you can also find Puerto Alcudia which is the more exploited tourist area. However the beach there is still one of the best on the island and with a bit of effort one can still find a quiet area.
