Both hotels were super- fives across the board. Our only suggestions- Cas Sant- an alternative and more basic breakfast rather than just the gourmet option. Son Simo Vell- some softer pillows rather than just a bolster. Best wishes

Dear Henrik, We would rate Hotel Son Simo Vell as follows- Service 5 Food 4 Cleanliness 5 Value for money 4 Sleep Quality 5 Visitors definitely need either a hire car for the stay, or be prepared to use taxis everyday as the only way to get to Alcudia, or Puerto Alcudia is by car. No buses stop on the main road and it is a busy road. Cycling might be a possibility in daylight but the road is unlit at night. There are no back roads as an alternative. My wife and I walked into Alcudia the first evening, but it took almost an hour and we decided the road was too dangerous to make this an option in future. All that said, the hotel is beautiful and the service from Cata and the staff and family, was first class. It is a very peaceful location with ample opportunities for bird watching and perfect for quiet relaxation by the pool or walks around the farm fields and vineyard. One evening meal option was offered each day, but as there was not a vegetarian option, we ate out every night. Room cleanliness and the provision of clean towels etc, was excellent. I would certainly recommend it as a lovely place to stay, providing you are prepared to drive. I think I did not do my homework sufficiently, thinking we would be able to walk to the nearby town easily, which proved not to be the case and as I drive all year, it was the last thing I really wanted to do on holiday. Lesson learned. Hope the above is helpful. Kind regards
