Hi Henrik, Son Bernadinet was incredible- so relaxing and charming. The staff took amazing care of us- we loved every minute of it! Such a bonus that the chef was incredible too and we ate dinner there every night. Was heavenly. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 4, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 4, Sleep quality: 5. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Absolutely, extremely relaxing and beautiful! I will be in touch! Many thanks,

Hi Henrik - comments below and scores against your questions. We had a lovely relaxing hotel, amazing food, wonderful friendly informal service. Would definitely recommend and would go back. Kids were welcomed. A small gym / area for exercise would be great.

Dear Henrik, Thanks for your email. Yes, we had a nice holiday in Mallorca even though the weather was unfortunately poor… Thank you for recommending the two hotels. We sang your praises at both hotels and you are definitely the “go to” and will recommend your company to friends. I would rate them as follows: SON BERNADINET - Service – 5, Food – 5, Cleanliness – 5, Value for money – 4 (this is a result of the poor value of the pound!!!), Sleep Quality – 5. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. The staff were without  exception magnificent. The hotel has an understated stylish charm and  low key and  a beautiful retreat.  A very peaceful rural location. The food was exceptional and each evening meal felt like a dinner party. The two lady managers were charming, friendly and engaging with cool style.  SA FRANQUESA - Service – 4, Food – 3, Cleanliness – 5, Value for money – 4, Sleep Quality – 5  Difficult to provide a full review as we were only there for 2 days and on one of those days  was a wedding and the weather was stormy. The best part of the hotel was the bedroom and adjoining patio. The main hotel areas were charming -  except naff piped english music being played in the dinning area at breakfast and during the day – very intrusive and annoying.. The food was disappointing at breakfast  (felt more like a 3 star grade) Our one Lunch was ok (tapas).  We had one dinner which was expensive and frankly poor –  the chef was trying too hard to be fancy without understanding ingredients.  There were too many children and young g families for us (that’s not the hotel’s fault). It was in a great location with beautiful views and a grand building. I   appreciate this hotel was  a bit cheaper and the above has factored that into account. We have been to Mallorca many times over the past 25 years to all parts of the island and for us, the south landscape is perhaps the most bland region. You mentioned Menorca. We went there in 2016 for a week and stayed at the Torralbenc.. Great hotel. Hope the above makes sense. Kind regards

Hi Henrik, Many thanks for suggesting San Bernadinet. We had a really special time there. It was a stunning property with a beautiful room/terrace  and pool. The food was exquisite. We had the most incredible dinner  there I think I have ever had! And only 30 minutes drive from the airport. I cannot recommend this place enough. Many thanks for your efforts in booking this for me and giving us the opportunity to have a truly relaxing few days away for our 20th Wedding anniversary in a lovely tasteful quiet welcoming venue . We followed your suggestions and went to the market on Saturday at Santanyi which was amazing and we had dinner at Cala Figura - really lovely spot by the port. We even went to El Trenc beach.  If you would like any recommendations please let me know. san Bernadinet is a really special place and a credit to the owners. Alicia gave us a proper warm welcome from the start she is utterly charming and clearly has great taste and very high standards. Well done you. MANY THANKS. Best regards

Hi Henrik, The hotel is amazing - I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a chilled holiday. It's very good value for money and the food is super nice too! Very friendly staff, so nothing to complain really. Thank you

AZ 07/17

Food was exceptionally good - especially the chef's three-course evening menu. Delightful swimming pool area and surroundings. Very nice to see their own very productive vegetable garden too. BUT they need a receptionist for overseeing checking in/out and being in touch with kitchen staff for drinks orders etc... too often one had to wander around trying to find someone! How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 4 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 5 Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes

Dear Henrik, The Son Bernadinet was exactly as I remembered it.  Friendly, efficient, clean absolutely wonderful food!  It is expensive but we knew that before we left.  Alicia and her mother are both charming and attentive and the staff are also the same.  I could not recommend it more highly. Kind regards

Hi Henrik, Well Son Bernadinet was fabulous. It was exactly what we were looking for. Lovely  and quiet in the most wonderful setting. We would give a 5 for service ,food cleanliness and sleep  quality. As far as value for money goes we personally thought a 5 didn't do it justice . If there was a higher rating we would certainly love to give it. We will definitely go back there again and more importantly we would highly recommend you! With best wishes and thanks again

Dear Henrik, It was just perfect. New rooms really comfortable and clean and new beds and baths. Breakfast really great with huge variety. Alicia the owner was so accommodating and friendly. Dinner good but a little too much sugar added to dishes but we asked for a little alteration and they were happy to oblige Peter had a bike delivered so he went everyday for a 3 hour training ride. Pool very clean and good sunbeds. Would highly recommend it. If you wanted total silence then at times you can hear the traffic and also small children are allowed but that didn't bother us. Many thanks for being so helpful. Best

Hi Henrik, Thanks for your email. Located down a long drive, plenty of easy parking, hotel, beautiful soft Mallorcan architecture all set in own grounds and olive groves. Owner could not have done enough to make our stay perfect. We absolutely loved it and would definitely go back. Dinner is quite expensive, but the food quality, presentation is second to none and flavours,  breakfast just marvelous.  Quiet and peaceful location. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality:5. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Definitely - so glad we chose this over the one further north, decision made purely on comments on food and cleanliness.

We've landed in heaven. Thank you. All we could wish for and more, perfect choice.

Dear Henrik, Son bernadinet was beautiful and the perfect getaway, we wished we could have stayed longer and will definitely come back in the future. The food was all hand-made and excellent! Bellow my feedback for your review. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service: 4 Food: 5  Cleanliness: 4 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality 4: Would you recommend the hotel to a friend?  Yes definitely however not to a young couple without kids as the hotel is very family friendly. All guests had kids.   Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? We loved this hotel, the domain is big and offers beautiful landscapes of the countryside. The food was very good, vegetables came from the garden etc... All in all, a very good experience.  Best,

Hi Henrik, Please see scores below.  In relation to general comments, I really liked both the hotels. Re Son Bernadinet, the pool area is a little tired and there is no service for drinks as such.  You have to go in and get someone. The chill out lounge by the pool is lovely, the rooms are good and the beds super comfortable.  Food at this hotel was excellent. Monnaber Vell was in a beautiful setting.  The service was a bit hit and miss around the pool and the cleaning service in the bedroom was poor but the pool area is beautiful. So relaxing and there are great walks in the area. Also, our bathroom was great. Food was pretty good but not great. I thought both places were a little understaffed but all in all we have a fantastic holiday, thanks for organising again.

Hi Henrik, We had a fabulous holiday and loved both Sa Rota and Son Bernadinet, they both had different things to offer and the two made a great combination.   I would rate both places very highly indeed.   Son Bernadinet offered the beautiful pool, excellent service and superb gastronomical experience whilst Sa Rota offered good value for money with large apartments, outstanding views and a rural tranquility that has been unrivalled for us so far.   I would highly recommend either.  Thanks for your advice when choosing from your wonderful range of properties.

Hi Henrik,  We had a fantastic time in Mallorca, thanks for your help with our last minute bookings.  Review of both hotels below; Son Bernadinet : How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service: 5 Food: Breakfast - 5  // Evening Meal/Lunch - 4 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes - a beautiful, stylish and modern take on the traditional Spanish finca. Very relaxing stay. Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? Bedroom suite was beautifully designed - relaxing and cool.  Bed was enormous. The pool was a really good size as well, and sits in nice grounds.  A great place for a short break. Sa Carrotja : How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service: 4 Food: Breakfast - 4 Evening meal - 3 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? A really nice, fairly traditional feeling finca.  Not much in the way of internal relaxing space, and didn't feel as luxurious as other rural hotels we've stayed in (e.g. size of room, quality of furniture etc) - but then it wasn't as expensive.  Breakfast was good, evening meal was fairly average.  A good base to explore some of the beaches in the south of the island.   Wouldn't rush back here, but it was a nice place to stay and would recommend. Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay?  Would recommend staying here, but perhaps not eating in - the town of Ses Salines is within walking distance and there are a couple of nice restaurants there.   Kind regards,

Dear  Henrik,  Thank you so much, We had a lovely holiday in Mallorca.  The second week at Son Bernadinet, it was more country side different from Son Jaumell, but we really liked this hotel, very quiet also the location was great, it was quite central so easy to get to every direction, different towns. Hi Henrik, Thanks for your email .....we had a great time. Son Bernadinet ....straight 5’s for everything. We loved it. Lovely relaxing place, their chef’s 4 course evening set menu was superb and good value @ 46 euros per head. Their wines whilst pricey were very good. Thank you very much for your advice and help. I’ll probably be contacting you for some Tuscany info in the near future.

Hi Henry, Hate doing 1-5 number ratings, so words instead. Our second hotel (can’t remember the name - Beradinet?) obviously is a different category, and also we had a really nice suite at a cheaper price because they couldn’t accommodate us for the first night, for which we are very grateful. We would go back here. A gracious-feeling place, and the food (so important to us) was really good. The young man in the kitchen, along with his assistant, obviously know what they are doing. We really enjoyed the quality of ingredients and such accomplished cooking. The staff all very personable, a delight.  Really nice having so much space and so few rooms. Also, the owner (Alicia?) recommended such a good restaurant to us - the fish place with 2 names, which was excellent. Please thank both places for us. We would use you again, also we’d go back to Mallorca for a short break. We actually found the food and use of vegetables there much superior to what we have experienced in a lot of mainland Spain! Thanks Henry!

Dear Henrik, I would like to thank you for your recommendation of hotel for our 5 day break in Mallorca last month.   The hotel was the perfect setting for a quiet time where my husband and I could unwind, read, swim and enjoy the environment.   The location was perfect for exploring the island and not too far from the airport. May I say the food was first class and I would rate all the facilities a 5. Regards

Hi Henrik, Many thanks for your email. We had a fantastic time at Son Bernadinet, so thank you so much for the recommendation. Service: 5 Food: 4 Cleanliness: 5 Value: 4 Sleep: 5 We would definitely recommend the hotel to friends. The breakfast was fantastic! We ate once in the restaurant in the evening and, though it was good, we felt it might have been nice to have had more Mallorcan food. It also felt a little over-priced for what we had. We also had lunch a couple of times – again, quite nice but not as good as the breakfast and a little over-priced. The wine was excellent however. The hotel itself (buildings and grounds) were stunning. The pool was very large and extremely clean. There was a wonderful feeling of space, which is a rare find. Overall, a really excellent hotel. Many thanks again!

EG 05/14

Hi Henrik, I have been dilatory in responding to your request and I apologise for that. So, without further ado I am happy to make the following comments: - Service: The service was excellent throughout our entire stay. 5 Food: The food was of a very high standard and beautifully presented. The Mallorcan wines were also stunning. 4 Cleanliness: The room we had was spotless and kept that way throughout our stay. 5 Value for money: The question of value for money is rather more subjective than objective. `We considered that we got value for our money. 5 Sleep quality: We slept very well especially as the season was only beginning. The bed was comfortable and large just what I need. 4 I would certainly recommend this hotel to all of my friends without any cavilling. It was ideal from so many points of view. As in all things, however, nothing on this earth is perfect and without little blemishes. So let me get my one criticism out of the way. No matter how I tried I could not get any hot water from the shower it always ran at a tepid temperature. I do not like my shower to be too hot but lukewarm is not an option either for me. The staff were tremendous with help being there when required and advice given with politeness and charm. We met the owner and, obviously her daughter, and they were really nice folk. The surrounding grounds were huge and it was a pleasant rural experience being able to enjoy so much farm land and well tended gardens. The pool was a wee bit oddly located sitting up on a raised mound, Some well placed planting could be used to great advantage. The planned layout was a wee bit academic and perhaps a little contrived. This is not surprising as the designer was the same chap as the owner and designer of Son Gener. The overall design context and concept is very very good and the interiors, with a judicious selection of antique furniture and selective lighting worked well and was clearly and thoughtfully considered. From a design perspective, the Son Gener is the better of the two. However, there is little point in comparing the two as they both had their unique charms and attributes.  We both thank you for referring us to this new Mallorcan experience and, certainly, we will be back in Mallorca and you will be on my first contact list for your great advice about hotel quality and a place which measures up to what I, as an architect, would expect by way of a visual and holiday experience. best wishes Henrik,

Henrik. Thanks so much for your recommendation – we loved it. A serene beautiful place. Worth staying JUST for the adult food. It is superb and the most beautiful breakfast ever! Sadly Children are not catered for. Frozen chips and breaded chicken /pasta with sauce (no puddings offered) seemed all that was offered during our stay….No menu for children. While we tucked into a 4 course dinner.. Such a shame when the care taken with the adult meals was amazing. Kids like nice food too! Service: 5 Food: Adult food 6 */ children’s food 2 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 5 (the jaccuzi bath didn’t work all week) Sleep quality: 5 (maybe a 4 as the air con rattled) Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes yes yes – Thanks again Henrik, for all your advice and help.

The memory that remains most from our short break at Mallorca is the joy and happines we felt everytime when returning to the beautiful and tranquil Son Bernadit environment and our great room after having spend a day on the Island and having seen the packed, very commercial sides of the island as well. Mallorca is a great place to go for a holiday but one should stay in places like Son Bernadit and look for the quiet and beautifull beaches and places. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5 Food: 5 Cleanliness:5 Value for money:4 Sleep quality:5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes

Hi Henrik, Son Bernadinet was quite perfect and I would give it 5/5 for everything. The staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Everything was spotless and the gardens are immaculate. The food was lovely and they would always provide an alternative. Breakfast was amazing. SE Majorca is very different from the rather overdeveloped north coast and we enjoyed looking round the smaller towns. Porreres for example. The beaches however were crowded which I did not quite expect as there are no big hotels. I think we could probably have found some smaller coves though if we had been a bit more adventurous. Next time…
