Mallorcan beaches: Na Clara

Posted: Tuesday, 20th September 2022

Do you like your beach experience quiet, uncrowded and packed with natural beauty? Na Clara answers on every call. Living up to its name which translates to ‘clear’, this gorgeous little Mallorcan beach cove yields water of amazing transparency. As a protected zone in Marine Reserve of Llevant, amazing panoramas lie everywhere you turn too.

Scenery surrounding Na Clara is truly breathtaking. Rugged tree-clad cliffs lead down to translucent turquoise waters. Soft golden sands offer a comfortable place to sit on shore yet extend miles out into the water, making for a swimmers paradise. Amongst the fine-grained sand you’ll find stony structures ranging from pretty pebbles to huge boulders. These add interest and depth to the already stunning cove.

Despite its exquisite beauty, Na Clara remains surprisingly uncrowded. So you can enjoy the many pleasures offered by this gem amongst Mallorcan beaches without feeling crammed by other visitors.

Access to Na Clara is nice and easy. Good signage from Es Calo and free parking make travelling by car a great option. Just be sure to bring some sensible walking shoes. You’ll need to walk some 200 metres from your car down to the bay. Some of the most picturesque natural surrounds will treat you for your efforts though.

Or if you are lucky enough to come to Na Clara by boat you’ll savour some incredible coastal views on the way. Once there, you can weigh anchor offshore. Marine and underwater conditions are favourable for anchoring vessels but the winds can be fierce from all directions. Just be sure to anchor a reasonable distance from the coast to be safe.

Na Clara is so secluded that you won’t find any restaurants or amenities on the beach. Yet the lovely village of Betlem, Arta lies close by. Such great Arta location means you can stock up on any supplies you’ll need for your time on the beach. Plus you have a range of accommodation choices on hand.  Arta and its surroundings have several boutique rural hotels on offer, each brimming with comforts, charm and welcome. For starters, you could look at:

•    Son Gener
•    Son Cardaix
•    El Encinar
•    Can Moragues
