Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? I would but it is rustic and in need of some maintenance looking a little tired. I also think that the sunbeds should have cushions?

Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay?

This was a very relaxing stay, quiet and tranquil, nothing to do but just how you want it when you need to relax with a good book. Internet connection was great, pool lovely and no one about!

Thanks

Hi Henrick – a quick thanks for all the arrangements for our holiday in Mallorca  last week – both hotels were great  and the hire car too

Look forward to a return when it is not quite so hot though!!

Hi Henrik

We had a wonderful trip and loved El Encinar and Sa Tanqueta.

Thank you for all your help in arranging the trip.

Kind regards.

Dear Henrik
I’m sorry for the delay in responding. We had a lovely time at both Son Pons and El Elcinar. Both were comfortable and clean. The reception we got was friendly and very welcoming. Although the front of staff at El Elcinar (Delores) was exceptional. She went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were catered for. She was just lovely with everyone. We would go back to both places (although we rarely go back anywhere-the world is too big!)
Let me know if you need any more
Thank you again

Hi Henrik

We just wanted to thank you for the El Encinar recommendation.

It is heavenly and exactly what we had in mind. Dolores and her team are taking very good care of us.

Thank you so much!

DR 07/22

Hi Henrik,

We had the most amazing stay at El Encinar! It’s an amazing hotel and the suite room and pool was just incredible.
We loved every hour of the stay

Service: 5/5 (Special shoutout to Deloris)
Food: we didn’t eat dinner but breakfast and the sandwich we had was 4/5
Cleanliness: 5/5 room was spotless
Value for money: 4/5
Sleep quality: 10/5!!

Would definitely recommend this to a friend and we are even thinking about bringing friends out and renting the full villa at the top?

We will be in touch next year when we plan another trip

All the best,

GH 08/21

Hi Henrik

Thanks for this, sorry for the delay. We had a lovely holiday thanks.

We enjoyed El Encinar, it was very tranquil and a gorgeous location up in the hills. The owner Volker was very helpful and solicitous.

I would say that your pictures gave us an impression that it would be a bit more polished than it was - and although we came to love the old-style rooms, it wasn’t as we expected.

Also, the quality of the food was not as we hoped, but I know other guests were enjoying it, so maybe we are fussy!

Overall, I didn't want to complain as we did enjoy the place (and loved some of the homely touches like the honesty bar) but aspects were a little basic, especially compared to the hotel we stayed in Soller with you a few years ago.

I hope that feedback is helpful.

Thanks,

Best wishes,

AS 08/21

Hi

We had a really nice trip and were happy with the places we stayed in general.

El Encinar: Lovely location, very German as is the whole area, Arta basically is German. But good resto Sa Gripia authentic.

Service: 4
Food: 3 – Dolores was great but food just ok
Cleanliness: 4
Value for money: 2 – expensive for what is was, room dark with no real view
Sleep quality: 3

Son Galceran:- great place but not really an isolated agritourismo. Room on ground floor looked out onto car park. Great national park and coastline, need a boat rally.

Service: 4
Food: 5 for breakfast
Cleanliness: 4
Value for money: 4
Sleep quality:4

Hi Henrik - just wanted to say that the rooms at El Encinar were just WONDERFUL- we absolutley LOVED our experience there - - the beach at Calla Torta was just stunning .

We are now in Pollenca - nice hotel - but missing El Encinar experience which was just perfect!

Thank you for your recommendations!

We had a wonderful time, thank you so much for your recommendations.
We stumbled across this website and immediately Henrik helped us find exactly what we were looking for.
Henrik quickly found us availability in 3 stunning places, and also gave us much needed inside knowledge about local places to visit.
I highly recommend Rural Hotels and will definitely be using them again.
Before we discovered you and your excellent website we had already booked into Hotel Llenaire, which I now see is on your website as well, so  basically we stayed in three places which you recommended and we love them all.
Definitely all 5 out of 5 on all your ratings.
El Encinar
Lovely peaceful rural hotel, run beautifully by Dolores who makes a delicious paella and was so helpful in many ways.
Son Cosmet
A real gem, lots of space and beautifully done in classic understated elegance. The plants and garden around the house are stunning and the pool by the olive trees is a peaceful retreat. It's Apolonias family estate and she looked after us so well.
Llenaire
More a hotel than agri-tourism, wonderful service by a dedicated team. Led by Miguel who's family have owned the house for ever. Grand, high ceiling rooms, with beautiful old furniture and paintings.
Do ask Miguel's son Tony to put you through your paces on the tennis court - quite a work out!

Thanks Hendrik. Overall the hotel was good, but the food let it down. Service 5, Food 1, Cleanliness 5, Value for money 3, Sleep quality 3. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes. The food was dreadful. Poorly cooked and overpriced. The staff however were superb and couldn't do enough for you.

Hi Henrik, We had a fabulous holiday! See below! How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: Excellent. Food: Ok, but not amazing. Cleanliness: Excellent. Value for money: we also stayed at an other place where the food was better and the rooms where of higher quality (recently refurbished) for slightly less. Therefore although we really enjoyed it value for money could be better. Sleep quality: excellent, although the bed for our toddler was a sofa, with knots in it. She was surprisingly fine but so we didn t ask the staff for a normal mattress. If we would have, they may have provided it.  Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes. Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? The view from the restaurant is absolutely amazing. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. As mentioned the food could use some improvement.

DM 08/18

Hi Henrik, We really enjoyed our short break at El Encinar, albeit we spend very little time there.  Feedback on the qualities you state are as below. Would definitely recommend, but would not stop again, only because we prefer to try somewhere different. Nothing really to fault, breakfasts great, as too evening meal, although we only had one.  The Manageress was really helpful.  Being really picky we thought the outdoor furniture to the room was a bit tired, broken and could have been cleaner. Kind Regards

NA 08/18

The welcome was great and a sandwich made for us mid afternoon on arrival. Dolores was delightful, giving us good food and excellent tips and conversation. The view from the restaurant and pool is idyllic, a very peaceful spot. Hello Henrik, Yes, we had a really nice holiday at El Encinar. Great location if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing time. Good facilities, we enjoyed the pool and the outside breakfasts and dinners. Easy access to interesting towns and good beaches. Resort manager, Dolores, provided excellent service and is knowledgeable about the region. On the final morning when we were leaving at 6.30 a.m. she left food/drink out for us - a nice touch. Service = 5, Food = 4, Cleanliness = 5, Value = 4, Sleep = 3 (the air conditioning wasn’t very effective) We would recommend to a friend. Many thanks,

Hi Henrik, We got back last night and had the most wonderful holiday. El Encinar was absolutely perfect for us. My husband said he wants to go back and so we would both definitely recommend it to friends. We went to Hotel Mar I Vent in Banyalbufar - do you know that one too? Is that on your website? It was wonderful (though a little tired - the bedrooms were quite damp and the bathrooms needed TLC but you couldn’t fault the view and the position). Thank you so much for suggesting El Encinar to us - having the apartment was perfect because we managed to save money by eating there in the evenings, and being able to prepare picnics, having a fridge etc was invaluable. We ate out one of our 5 evenings, in Arta, which was wonderful. We loved all the beaches - mainly Cala Torta, Mitjana and Estreta - they were less touristy and were off the beaten track which is what we hoped for.  We hardly saw a cloud in the sky for 10 days. It was boiling hot - but thankfully if we weren’t cooling off in the sea, we were in the pool at El Encinar, so we managed not to overheat. The only thing we felt was it was a shame there weren’t more families at El Encinar - we felt a bit self conscious as the only people with children and so we felt we had to keep them quiet all of the time, as it was an exceptionally peaceful place for quiet couples mainly. But it didn’t really matter. We’d rather that than a busy family hotel with waterslides etc!! Thank you again. We’d be interested to know about your Menorca recommendations. we’ve been many times because my in laws own a small farmhouse in Sant Lluis, but we’d like to know what hotels you’d recommend on the island.

Hi Hendrik, Please find our feedback below - thank you for recommending this venue to us: we had great holidays! Very nice hotel with a lot of attention to detail  - owners and staff are more than friendly and really on it to create a great holiday experience to their guest.  Very nice - we will come back for sure! Hi Henrik, We had a lovely holiday thank you.  Both hotels were beautiful, we are so pleased with the two holidays we have booked through you we recommend you to everyone!  Our friends the Stoddards are there now following our recommendation to use you. Both El Encinar and Son Terrassa I would rate 5 for everything.  Loved both of them and would highly recommend them.  Wasps were a bit of a problem at El Encinar but that was more than made up for by the lovely Dolores and her rice pudding/orange marmalade.  Our only slight criticism would be the rule for quiet time by the pool between 2-5pm.  I understand this is something that happens in these types of hotels but it would be good to know that before booking as we would prefer to stay in hotels that didn’t have this rule.  We arrived hot and tired after our journey to Mallorca and were shouted at by a German couple for using the swimming pool during these times, children don’t really understand why! Couldn’t fault the service and cleanliness and the views were breathtaking. Thank you again for all your help.

Thanks Henrik, we had a fabulous stay at El Encinar! xx

Dear Henrik, I just wanted to write to let you know that we had an absolutely wonderful time at El Encinar. It could have not been more perfect. The Finca is beautiful yet homely, comfortable and relaxed. Our room was quirky and spacious and was kept spotlessly clean with lots of fresh towels when we needed them. The delightful cleaner - Mariella - was sensitive enough to adjust the time she cleaned our room to accommodate our daughter's nap times. Amazing! The gardens and pool were beautifully maintained by Toni. And, like so many of your other guests, our stay would simply not have been as wonderful without the care and attention given by Dolores for whom nothing is too much trouble. She makes every guest feel special. Travelling with a three year old can be tricky and this is a 'grown-ups' hotel. However, Dolores was happy to cater for our daughter; cooking her supper early and producing child-friendly dishes for her. She cooked her pancakes and heart-shaped waffles and even brought her some story books of her own to amuse her. The general atomosphere is of true relaxation. In the garden there are plenty of little tucked away places to read books and enjoy a drink from the honesty bar and plenty of loungers beside the pool with umbrellas for shade. The pool itself was a wonderful temperature and I thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the gardens picking fresh figs from the trees. The rooms are spread throughout the Finca so it is easy to feel that you are the only people staying. Breakfast was a wonder to behold and there really was something to please everyone. We looked forward to seeing the evening's menu each morning and choosing what we would eat for dinner. Dolores didn't disappoint. The food was always fresh, never fussy and always delicious. The tapas and paella evenings were fun and there was always a meat, fish and vegetarian option to choose from. The hotel's location was great too. Five minutes drive from the lovely town of Arta and ten minutes from the sea. However, the view from the finca is over the tops of the almond groves to the sea and you cannot see another building so you'd never know that busy civilisation is so close at hand. At night it is truly silent - a rarity in this busy world. Without you we would not have had such an amazing holiday. You were very patient with me in helping find us the right place for our needs. Thank you! We were thinking that we might go to Tuscany next year. Can you help? With huge thanks and very best wishes,

EN 09/16

Dear Henrik, Responding to your enquiry I would say that your hotel selection for us was very, very good. Our plane arrived late so we arrived to the Mar I Vent hotel late in the evening and in the dark. Finding any parking was a bit of a nightmare and apparently 10 pm was too late for any dinner. Nevertheless the room was ok and the bed was comfy. Next morning we discovered the view from our bedroom balcony ....wow!...wow...wow. Breakfast on their dining room terrace was about as good as it gets but this is more than could be said for their dinner menu which really wasn't. Overall though we liked it a lot and would happily stay there again. Ratings: 4,3,5,5,5 and yes but advising to take dinner somewhere else. Next El Encinar d' Arta....not easy to find with some corrections necessary to your route instructions. But when you do get there .....it is simply stunning!..... so quiet so relaxing and in all respects very special indeed. Lovely bedroom, comfortable with air conditioning and a unique barbecue dinner experience. Dolores, the owner manager was a perfect host who couldn't do enough to make you feel very welcome.......We absolutely loved our too-short stay there and will probably want to return with other members of our family. Ratings:5,5,5,5,5 and most certainly yes. We flew to Majorca with Monarch airlines which we rated highly and rented our car from Hertz who tried to rip us off and offered absolutely dreadful customer service so we won't be using them again. As for you, my friend, your business very skilfully provided us with an absolutely excellent holiday experience for which we sincerely thank you....very well done!

SB 08/16

Dear Henrik, We have just returned from a lovely holiday in Mallorca and we loved both our stays at El Encinar and Son Siurana. For feedback, we thought Dolores at El Encinar provided a wonderful service and the whole set up made us feel very comfortable, despite being the only English people there.  Her breakfasts were delicious and we ate evening meals twice, again, very good. Son Siurano was lovely too, if a little more impersonal.  Our room there was very nicely appointed and breakfast was very good.  The only thing I would suggest for feedback is that it would have been nice to have been offered a fresh fruit salad rather than tinned, especially as there us such a wonderful selection of fruit available in the shops and markets.  Dolores provided fresh fruit salad every morning.  Having said that, everything else was delicious. Best wishes

Hello Henrik, In reply to your email the following are my thoughts on my stay ai El Encinar - 1. Very good directions and a warm welcome from the owner on arrival. 2. Accommodation is very clean and the situation lovely. 3. Food was extremely disappointing, very cheap quality of cold meats, cheese served for breakfast and no fresh orange juice. Quality of supper was no better, the pork was so tough my husband could not eat it. 4. The lady cooking and serving was impatient and intolerant with us and did everything grudgingly. Unfortunately for the above reason re food and service  I would not recommend anyone to stay there. We then moved on to stay at Son Mas which I cannot find fault with. I would also recommend highly the service of Rural Hotels. I hope this helps. Regards

Hello Henrik, Thank you for your email. Yes we had a very good holiday at El Encinar. The service was excellent---discreet but efficient. Dolores was cheerful and attentive so we felt we had personal service. She made sure everyone was enjoying themselves and created a very friendly atmosphere, getting people together even though their languages were different!! We are emailing a German couple she introduced us to and sat with at dinner. She even took tea and a kettle to our room so we could have a drink in the early morning before we left! Please pass on our thanks to her. The food was very good if limited in choice -- well cooked and nicely presented and a lot of it! We especially enjoyed the variety of breakfast menu--lovely fruit and breads. A leisurely meal overlooking the gardens and hills made the holiday really special. And the October Fest was great fun! We found our room very clean and pleasant but might opt next time for a larger one with a terrace. The lounge inside the hotel was a beautiful room, lovingly furnished in the old style of the house. A bonus that you could get wi fi!! The pool and gardens were gorgeous. Just one small comment-- I found the bed exceptionally hard and it would have benefitted from a down topper-- but maybe I'm just an old softie! All in all a lovely quiet restful hotel which we will return to when we have the opportunity. Well positioned too as it has such good road links to Arta and then the north coast. Good value for money and we have already recommended it to friends . Many thanks.

Hi Henrik, We had a great time thank you and would unhesitatingly recommend both hotels, 5 for all categories at El Encinar and 4 for Fornalutx Petit Hotel (where the main thing was that our room on the ground floor was a bit dark and close to some bad-smelling drains) but otherwise the garden there is lovely and the village location superb. We’ll definitely be in touch to consider going back to Mallorca or Menorca at a similar time next year. Meanwhile, would you know if we could get a nice self-catering 3 bedroomed house or flat in Fornalutx for 2 weeks over Easter eg 23 March to 4 April?? Thanks for all your help setting up last week for us. Best wishes

Hi Henrik, Thanks for sending this through. We both had a lovely stay at El Encinar. We both felt very well looked after and felt we had a very special time there.
