Hiking Mallorca: cut a coastal track from Ermita de Betlem to Can Picafort

Posted: Thursday, 20th October 2022

Guided hiking tours are a wonderful way to see Mallorca. You don’t need to be an experienced walker by any stretch. The island holds plenty of routes for walkers of all abilities. Should coastal scenery and refreshing dips in pretty beaches appeal, hiking Mallorca can really deliver. Take a guided walking tour from Ermita de Betlem to Can Picafort. Sure this walk is on the longer side so you are best to tackle this with some level of fitness. Yet the paths themselves are pretty easy and won’t challenge you too much.

Kick off at tiny Ermita de Betlem where fragrant orchards, cypress trees and a lovely historic church are popular attractions. You can’t miss the vibrant rose window of the hermitage nor the amazing sea views.

A downhill hike leads you to coastal Betlem village and glorious vistas of Bay of Alcudia. Walk the coastal path soaking up fresh country air mixed with invigorating sea breezes. Looking out to bright blue sea is a treat too. Hike all round the bay to Can Picafort where you’ll pass through Serra de la Marina and Colonia Sant Pere. Don’t leave your bathers at home cause there’s lots of opportunity to cool off in beautiful beaches.

Next on your hike is the protected zone of Son Real. A change of pace from coastal beauty to prehistoric remains await. One of the greatest spectacles is offered by the Necropolis. Gnarled by some sea damage, you’ll marvel at the diverse tombs of the Necropolis. Then it is on to Can Picafort where you can wind down your hike in style.
