Posted: Thursday, 18th June 2015

Cycling Mallorca does not have to be difficult and it’s definitely not confined to experienced cyclists either. Cautious beginners or cruisy intermediate cyclists alike will love a scenic cycle. Seeing Mallorca from the seat of a cycle is a unique experience indeed. Plus there are just so many cycle routes around Mallorca to suit all skill levels. A lovely easy one takes you from Colonia de Sant Jordi to Cap de Ses Salines.

A few small hills are thrown into the mix on this 22km ride but you’ll be mostly on flat ground. So you can take a leisurely ride to soak up the picturesque scenery. Begin at Colonia de Sant Jordi then choose whether you’ll ride via Campos or Ses Salines. Campos will take you to stunning Es Trenc beach where you can revel in unspoilt sea vistas. Ses Salines takes you on a 10km cycle on through the town to a charming lighthouse. Fresh country air keeps your Mallorca cycling spirits up as you take in the lush surrounding woodlands. Take your bathers as the lighthouse lies beside a rocky beach, perfect for a cooling swim after your cycling efforts.

Cycling Mallorca is characterised by lots of sightseeing options. This easy ride is no exception. Stop off in Santanyi to check out an historic church with iconic organ. Time your cycle ride to coincide with Santanyi’s vibrant Wednesday or Saturday markets too. Or head to La Colonia for some amazing beaches. You could even drop into Llombards to get a taste for typical Mallorcan village life.
