HOTELS

Dear Henrik, Can Quatre was delightful. The staff were charming and helpful. The room and the public rooms in the hotel were very clean and very attractive. Beautiful gardens and two lovely swimming pools although, it being October, the water was a little cold. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel. Regards

Hi Henrik, We had a lovely holiday thank you. I’ve completed the feed back below. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 4, Sleep quality:4. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? YES! Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? The hotel is beautifully furnished and maintained, the staff are all very friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for more and will consider staying there again. We loved the hotel and there is so much more do in the local area. Best wishes

Thought the hotel was v good. Staff v helpful. Our room was v good, bed comfortable and good view from the balcony. Breakfast also good. Could not think of any reason not to like the hotel. Soller itself was v pleasant, Busy at nights, Usually with some type of music in the square or the cafes. Port Soller was v picturesque, but tram expensive. Bus when available was only 1.5 Euros each. We would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Ratings are as follows: Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 5 I would certainly recommend it, and much appreciated the steps that were taken to make us as a single-parent family with a toddler and baby (!) feel welcome and cared for. Very best,

Hi Henrik, We had a lovely stay in Soller. Best things about Can Quatre were the location. - just 10 minutes’ walk from Soller centre where there were some great restaurants. - staff friendliness . They were very obliging. - breakfast buffet- excellent selection and beautifully presented. Relaxed atmosphere at hotel. Slight downside: We stayed in 2 bed villa and could hear next door plumbing when they were using shower etc. Decor fairly simple.  However, Cleanliness good. Didn’t eat in Hotel but it looked good. Our sons would’ve liked gym facilities/ table tennis etc so we would probably choose a different hotel next time. Many thanks for your help. We’ve had a lovely break. Regards,

We had such a lovely stay! We would give a score of 5 for everything! We would recommend it to friends for a special treat. We were both in need of a holiday and found the hotel so relaxing, the room was beautiful and the staff could not have been more helpful. Thanks for suggesting this hotel to us! Regards,

Hello Henrik, I would give Can Quatre 5 for all of your categories. The hotel was perfect for our needs Llum and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The setting, services, food and facilities were outstanding.  Thank you also for your help in deciding which hotel was right for us.  Best wishes

Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? The best thing about Can Quatre, without a doubt is the staff. They can’t do enough for you. Great location for walking into Sóller but still peaceful enough to relax.

Kind regards

Dear Henrik, We had a wonderful week at Can Quatre! A peaceful haven close to the hub of soller, we enjoyed the walk into the centre and all the amenities there Katerina made us feel very welcome and everyone was very helpful  Our room was very comfortable and very clean, we slept well and appreciated the air conditioning at night as we were on the ground floor and felt safer with closed doors  Food was good at breakfast, the fresh orange juice a perfect start, dinner with only one choice required some discussion over ingredients not liked - egg plant..but chef was accommodating  Value for money was good, we felt very well looked after  Many Thanks

That's no trouble, Hendrik. We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were wonderful-  friendly and helpful,   especially with local information. The whole place had a relaxed atmosphere that was just ideal for the kind of holiday we wanted. We would go back and have already recommended it to others. Regarding the scores - 4 for the food and 5 for everything else. Regards,

Hi Henrik, We got home from a wonderful holiday in Mallorca a couple of weeks ago.  We are happy to give you some feedback. 1.  Can Quatre, Soller.   We really loved this hotel, and Soller generally.:- Service was excellent - 5, Food - we only had dinner in the hotel on one occasion.  No choice of menu.  Most guests ate out, so you were likely to be eating either alone, or with one or two others.  However, the food was good.  Apart from the menu, very good snack meals were available, both for dinner and during the day (the best gazpacho ever!).  Breakfast certainly rated a 5., Cleanliness - 5, Value for money 5, Sleep quality 5 We would have quite liked tea making facilities in our room (in both hotels). It was a good 25 minute walk into the centre of town, which sometimes felt quite arduous - especially if we were doing it more than once a day. Loved the old town of Soller, the train to Palma, and the tram to the Port. We enjoyed a couple of evenings in the Port, a day trip to Valdemossa, and a day in Palma.  Also a walk to Fornalutz. 2.  Hotel Cal San Vicenc.  A very good hotel, but not so keen on the location.  The little bays were lovely, but the town has been spoilt by some huge hotels which dominate the beaches.  Shame the hotel was not actually on the sea.  However:- Service - 5 - very helpful when making restaurant recommendations, advising generally. Food - 5 - we ate in for dinner twice.  On both occasions the food was excellent.  (Also ate at 3 very good restaurants within walking distance).  Breakfast was good - fairly predictable hotel buffet., Cleanliness - 5, Value for money - 4 (only because of location), Sleep quality - 5 We enjoyed visiting Pollenca and also the Port.  A high spot was a 3 hour boat trip round the coast. We did not have a car.  However, we found the public transport system (local buses), and the train/tram (in Soller) very efficient, and the buses were very good value.  You had to be aware of the timetable because they were not very frequent, but this was not too difficult!  Also taxis were readily available, and not too expensive - all regulated. If we return to Mallorca (on try Menorca) we will certainly consult you again. Many thanks for your help

Hello Henrik, We have just returned home after a week in C'an Quatre in Soller. I just wanted to say that we absolutely loved the hotel. The staff, food and ambience were all fantastic so all in all a really great holiday. We definitely hope to go again next year. Best wishes

Hi Henrik, This was our second stay at Can Quatre and again we would give all your categories 5 out of 5.  Can Quatre is a relaxed, stylish and friendly place to unwind in the sun. It is in a superb quiet location within easy walking distance of Soller town square with it's many and varied restaurants with the added bonus of being a short tram ride down to the beach.

Hi Henrik, We had a lovely week at Can Quatre. Our accommodation was very comfortable, with nice view from terrace. Everything worked. The breakfasts were great, good choice of hot or cold dishes. We did feel that although the evening meals were good, a little more choice would have been appreciated.(breakfast 5, dinner 3) The cleanliness was superb. (5) The staff were very friendly and accommodating and were very knowledgeable about the area and restaurants, they made our stay very enjoyable. Slept well (4) Value for money (5) We would certainly recommend Can Quatre and yourself.

Hi Henrik, We had a wonderful stay in Mallorca. Can Quatre was superb. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The organisation of the hotel was most efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. I would rate all the categories you mentioned at 5 without reservation. This was our first visit to Mallorca and we weren't disappointed! I am sure we may well go back sometime and would choose to stay at Can Quatre. I would definately recommend this hotel.

Will gladly do this over next few days we had a wonderful time at the hotel thanks. Will give you a full review.

Dear Henrik, Thank you for your e-mail.  This year we had a lovely holiday at Ca’n Quatre, with no health problems & no visits to Son Espassos Hospital! Below we have indicated our ratings of the hotel and its services. There were only 2 things which we did NOT enjoy about this holiday.  Firstly, the day after we arrived the temperature rose up to 35 degrees and stayed there and sometimes more! Secondly we took a boat trip from Soller port to the tiny village of Sa Calobra near where the Torrente de Pareis meets the sea. At the same time as the boat arrived there, no fewer than 10 coaches entered the village and each disgorged 45-50 French tourists! Consequently the path and narrow tunnels to the beach were packed with people and the beach, which was only 20 metres broad, was scarcely visible for bodies… Needless to say we turned round and took the first boat back. I should add that in two slightly wider places on the path between the tunnels there were piles of rubbish a metre high…  Please warn your customers not to go to this place! How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service:5, Food:5, Cleanliness:5, Value for money:5, Sleep quality: 5. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend?  Yes

Dear Henrik, We had a very enjoyable stay at Can Quatre thank you, and I would recommend it. The main building and bedroom accommodation and grounds are beautiful and well kept. The room was kept very clean and tidy every day. Breakfast buffet, cooked meals and breakfast service were also very good. The location was ideal as was on the edge of Soller with mountain views but walking distance to the pretty town with good amenities, tram, train etc. our only gripes if any were the very hard beds (!) and a kettle in the room would have been useful. Many thanks for your recommendation. Best regards,

Dear Henrik, We had a lovely stay at Can Quatre and would certainly recommend it to friends. Service: 5, Food: 4, Cleanliness:5, Value for Money:5, Sleep quality:5 The accommodation, friendly and helpful staff and the surroundings at Can Quatre made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable-we will certainly return. Hi Henrik, We have just spent a fantastic week at Can Quatre in Soller, in Mallorca.  The finca was perfectly located for Soller centre, about 15 mins walk to lots of lovely bars, cafe's restaurants. Lovely quiet pool area at the finca with lush, well maintained gardens, all very relaxing. Our room was spotlessly clean and we didn't want for anything. All the staff were so kind, helpful and knowledgable. Very high standards throughout. The breakfast selection was the best I have ever seen and it was beyond delicious. We both felt very rested there which is what the staff totally focuses on.  I cannot recommend it enough, we will definitely be returning. Ten out of ten.

Dear Henrik, Sorry for delay, very busy on return to work. Absolutely YES. Wonderful quite spot, super setup and the villa's are perfect for families with own pool access. It's a very quiet relaxing place ideal for a relaxing holiday. Very close walk to Soller town centre and also not far from the tram stop to Port Soller. Thanks again Henrik for finding this hotel for us. Super spot and we will I'm sure visit again. We're planning a tour again next summer and will come back to you for some alternative places for us to try again, maybe towards Porto Cristo on the East Coast if you have any ideas. Thanks again for your help. My feedback is as follows: Service: 4, Food: 4, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 5. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? YES!

Hello Hendrix, We enjoyed our week – the Hotel was perfect for us.  We had a super spacious room with terrace – all we asked for. The gardens were a riot of colour,  not quite warm enough for swimming in the well maintained pool. I would certainly recommend it to like minded friends. Service 4, Food     4 (Breakfast buffet excellent), Cleanliness 5, Value 4, Sleep quality 5 (very comfortable bed). Thank you for your help with the planning. Best wishes

Hello Henrik, We had a great holiday, thank you. The 2 hotels were quite different. Can Quatre was much cosier, a relaxed place in a delightful rural setting surrounded by mountains. You would need a car (we hired one after leaving Palma) unless you went for the walking. Although rural, it is just a short walk into Soller though the walk is not very attractive along town streets. We took the car in once or twice but many of the streets are narrow and confusingly one-way and parking in town is very limited. We liked the whole area and Soller is a good base to explore the coast and mountains, though hundreds of cyclists and tourist coaches made progress along the mountain roads rather tedious at times. Summer must be a nightmare. The service in the hotel was very good and we looked forward to the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast each day. They were very accommodating regarding my dietary requirements. Not ultra-modern like the Convent but well appointed, clean and comfortable. On the whole we preferred it. The staff were fewer but were very helpful and they all seemed to do any job that was needed. We felt very much at home here. Though we feel we probably saw the most spectacular part of the island, if we could find a similar hotel in another area we  would certainly consider going back to explore a different part. The other hotel, Convent de le Missio, was a really modern conversion of the old building. All the fittings were first class, brilliant shower, very comfortable bed. Very clean too. The staff were  knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We didn’t use the Simply Foch restaurant other than breakfast. The menu seemed rather pretentious and costly for our taste. The hotel was a good base for exploring the interesting city of Palma. Most things were in walking distance and taxis were not expensive if needed. A car would be a liability. We would recommend the whole experience including the hotel. Neither hotel was cheap but we thought they were both worth the money.  Thanks again

Dear Henrik, Please accept my apologies for not responding to your email. We had a wonderful time at Can Quartre, a lovely place with excellent staff.  I wonder could you ask them did they find my pearl earing?! I think it was lost in the room. An oasis of tranquillity. Typical Mallorcan Finca done to a very high standard. Welcoming staff, lovely clean rooms, delightful gardens and pool area.  A wonderful few days, thank you. Hello Henrik, We enjoyed our stay very much - beautiful location. Food 4 Service 4 CLeanliness 4 Value for Money 4 Sleep Quality 4 Yes I would recommend Can Quatre to friends, At breakfast it would be nice to have larger portions of fruit - pineapple, melon etc - slices were very thin, and more tables on the patio at breakfast time.  Some people ended up having to eat inside as no tables were available, as some people spent a very long time just sitting after breakfast which is fine, but if more tables were available this would not matter.  Thought I would mention these 2 points. Regards

Henrick we had a lovely holiday thank you , sad to be home :(. We would rate Can Quatre 5 for everything but 4 for value. We would recommend to friends & we would return. Can Quatre is a lovely property, the staff are delightful, delicious breakfast and attention to detail. A perfect location for us as we wanted somewhere that  we could walk to the square from - it is literally 10 minutes. ` Many Thanks

Hi Henrik, Thank you for your email. We had a wonderful time at C'an Quatre, and will be delighted to recommend it to a friend...or anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful holiday in Soller. The Finca is small enough to make it feel personal and friendly, but has all the amenities you want for the perfect holiday. I will give a '5' for everything.....Service, Food, Cleanliness, Value for money ( not cheap but has wonderful bedrooms, swimming pool and personal service) As for sleep quality....depends on how much wine you've drunk, but we slept well, as it was quiet and in the countryside. A family run Finca with a homely and personal touch. Small, but has everything you would need for a quiet, peaceful holiday in the town of Soller. About 15 minutes walk from the main square so you can stay at the Finca all day ( a light salad lunch is available to order) until you want to walk out for an evening meal at the many restaurants in town. The rooms are spacious, with air conditioning and have many homely touches. The Finca has a delightful sitting room, with dining areas both inside and out. Breakfast was a feast of cold hams and cheeses, preserves and local fruits, freshly squeezed orange juice and eggs cooked to order (from the nearby hens) As I said to the owner, a perfect place to recharge the batteries. Hope this is suitable and thank you again for all your help before we travelled. (we took a taxi from Palma airport to the train station, then took the train to Soller with no problems at all)  However, walking directions to C'an Quatre from the train station in Soller  were impossible without using the sat nav on our phone, so a small map of Soller square showing the train station, tram station and the directions to C'an Quatre would be most useful. Looking forward to using Rural Hotels in the future. Kind Regards

Hi Henrik, We had a wonderful time on holiday . We greatly appreciated your assistance which was based on a real knowledge of the hotels. You showed amazing patience and provided information each time I raised any issues. Your advice to consider two different locations worked amazingly well with our wish to explore the north of Mallorca. I will certainly come back to you next time we wish to explore Mallorca. The hotels all score 5 and we would recommend the hotels to friends. I must say that in both hotels they were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The personal touch made the stay in both hotels very enjoyable. I am quite prepared to write something for each hotel if that helps.

Hi Henrik, Thanks for your email. I've been so busy so just now had time to read it properly. We had a great holiday thank you, and thank you so much for all your help and valuable advice.  I'm so glad you recommended Can Verdera over the others in Fornalutx as it was just gorgeous and in a fabulous location... the top bar was a surprise and a joy and I could've sat there looking out at the view with my mojito forever! Here are my ratings... Can Verdera first/Can Quatre second How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service: 4/4 Food: 4/4 Cleanliness: 4/4 Value for money: 4/3 Sleep quality: 4/4 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? yes/yes Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? I would highly recommend Can Verdera and Fornalutx as the ideal place to unwind. It is so peaceful.  The pool and bar area at Can Verdera are lovely and the views breathtaking.  Sitting up in the outside bar with a cocktail watching the sun change the colour of the mountainsides was pure bliss. Our second trip to Can Quatre so no surprises and it was fine.  We love Soller so Can Quatre is ideally situated for the vintage train down to the port (there is a stop a short walk away) or you can take the 10-15 min stroll into the town centre.  The owner (sorry I forget her name) was great, very welcoming and made us feel at home and comfortable. The previous time we went there was a different person who was perhaps not so welcoming. It made a difference to have a warm welcome.  One of our mattresses was really uncomfortable and she took the news well and said she'd do something about it which she did.  We wanted peace and relaxation and that's what we got.  The last day two families arrived with teenagers and they all knew each other so you are talking maybe 9 or 10 people which is not what we would want, but it was our last day so that was OK! Many thanks again Henrik.

Hi Henrik, What can we say? Best hotel we have ever stayed in, fabulous place, 5 rating for everything, cannot fault it at all, view,s to die for as well, I have e-mailed Llum to thank her and her staff and many thanks to you for finding it for us, we will for sure be going back to Can Quatre. Thanks again

Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? yes absolutely – fantastic place. Great facilities and fabulous staff Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? Relaxing, convenient for town and restaurants. Very friendly staff who made our first family holiday with a 2yr old very easy indeed. The location is tranquil and peaceful – just perfect to get away.Thank you! we shall certainly be going back.

Hi Henrik, The Can Quatre was lovely. Llum the owner was very helpful and welcoming. The junior suite was very comfortable with a fantastic view of the mountains (we were out in the garden). Breakfast was excellent with a choice of eggs freshly laid and cooked. We ate one night – a set menu – which was OK but we prefer to eat out and there was plenty of choice especially in the port. The staff were helpful and were happy to make us Gin & Tonics each night when we returned – the sitting room is very nice – we were entrusted to turn off the lights before we went to bed, late. They were expensive but definitely the best G&Ts we have had! So 5 for for service, cleanliness, value for money and sleep. 5 for breakfast ans 3 for evening meal. We may well go back here in the future. Overall we had a fabulous holiday and will be coming back to Mallorca (this amazingly was out firs visit). Again thank you for your help and for introducing us to 2 great hotels.
