HOTELS

Apologies Henrik

I had meant to email straight away to say that

Service: 5
Food:5
Cleanliness:5
Value for money:5
Sleep quality:5

Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Absolutely

Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay?

Very peaceful and relaxing hotel to stay in that has kept its special and historic character as well as providing very comfortable modern facilities.
The staff were extremely helpful but never imposed or were overly attentive.

As you can see we were delighted with the hotel from all aspects and it matched exactly what we were looking for!

Finca Son Palou, Orient lovely place to stay. Friendly staff, all services 5, had a walk to es Verger, the map was good but I read it wrong and walked 3 times longer  go back again yes.

Dear Henrik,

We had a great stay, thank you.

I think we would certainly give 5/5 for service, food, cleanliness, value for money and sleep quality. My wife has already put a review on Trip Adviser.

I would recommend this finca to anyone wishing to stay in Mallorca, and will suggest it to friends and family if they are coming out to visit us on our boat at Arenal. I hope we will be able to stay there again ourselves at some future date.

I have only two points that might be improved:

We used the satnav to find the hotel and it took us to the service road which is incredibly steep and difficult to negotiate. It might be a good idea to have a sign at the bottom of the hill telling people who are arriving for the first time to go a few hundred yards further on to the proper entrance.
We really liked our room. However, next time we would quite like to stay in the original main building.
As I mentioned earlier, I hope to use your services at some future date if I ever manage to fulfil my ambition of walking the GR221.

Thank you for your advice and organisation!

Your sincerely,

JE 03/22

It was great Henrik, It really met all our requirements and I would give it 5 for everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful the location amazing and the food was delicious

We would definitely tell friends about it and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who wants a quiet trip away for a few days.

The only thing I would say was that our driver didn’t take cards and that was a bit tricky in such a rural place. However the hotel manager stepped in and paid cash and added it to our bill. Problem solved.

Thanks again Margaret

Dear Henrik, We had a lovely break at Son Palou.  Our third visit and we cannot fault a single thing. I would rate the hotel 5 out of 5 in all areas. Mark and his wonderful team make us feel like special guests. We are moving to the Caribbean for 4 years so may not get the opportunity to visit again for a while but we will definitely return at some point. Thank you

Dear Henrik, We had a blissful stay at Son Palou - it was all we'd hoped for and more. I don't have a bad thing to say about the experience and would love to return next year - probably in the spring or autumn when it isn't so hot and we can take advantage of the stunning scenery and the walking opportunities. I would certainly recommend to a friend but with the proviso that car hire is essential and it is quite some distance from the nearest large village should you want to shop.  The drive is along steep, winding mountain roads so not suited to a nervous driver! However once at the hotel the stunning views and the overwhelming sense of peace and tranquility make it worth while.  We ate in the hotel 3 of the 4 nights and the food was excellent - as were the wines.  The tasting menu was well thought out and served at a perfect pace. We loved our superior room with a terrace - it was nice to have a separate sitting area and a fridge.  The infinity pool was stunning - you could never tire of the views and the honesty bar was a perfect touch. Thank you for making out trip happen - it certainly was with all the effort trying to find those 4 consecutive nights! Service - 5, Food - 5, Cleanliness - 5, Value for money - 5, Sleep quality - 5.  Kind regards

Hi Henrik, I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you so much for helping us at the last-minute to find a hotel near Port Pollensa last week!  We were so disappointed with the hotel at Port Pollensa that we had booked ourselves and you really 'saved the day' by booking us into the Llenaire at such short notice.  The hotel was very comfortable, Alex and Miguel were very professional and charming hosts and we very much enjoyed our stay.  Chris and I rather wish we had booked the rest of our trip through you, as although I enjoyed the Sant Francesc Singular in Palma, Chris thought it was rather characterless and over-priced, and I think we may have been better off staying in one of your Palma suggestions! We did however, very much enjoy the Son Palou and would highly recommend it.  The staff there (Ruth and Marga in particular) were wonderful and we found the hotel very relaxing and special (although the hairpin bends on the road to Bunyola every day are pretty tedious!) We loved our 10 days in Mallorca and I hope we will be able to visit again soon.  I will certainly recommend to anyone I know travelling to Mallorca that they should book though you! Thank you in the meantime for all your help.  We really appreciate it. All the best

Hello Henrik, We had a fantastic time in both the hotels, thank you, and would recommend both thoroughly (Mirabo and Son Palou). I have forwarded this to my partner who will provide you with the review as requested. We look forward to booking through you again, possibly in Menorca! Here is our rating for Son Palou - How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service:  4 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend?  Yes Definitely Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? We loved the peaceful, relaxing setting of this hotel which is set in a valley far from any  traffic and noise.  You truly feel you are getting away from it all and you can completely switch off from day to day stresses.  eautiful location with views of surrounding mountains and very friendly staff.  We would most certainly recommend this hotel and hope to return in the future. And here is our rating for Hotel Mirabo -  How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service:  5 Food: 3-4 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend?  Yes definitely.  Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? This rustic hotel is tucked away on a hillside far from traffic or noise and all you hear are the birds. The building has been beautifully converted and the views across to Valldemossa are stunning.  The Manager, Antonio, is so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.  It was a pleasure to stay here and we hope to return one day. We will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. Thank you Henrik for recommending these 2 hotels.  We had a wonderful week and the weather was fabulous.  We were very lucky!  Kind regards

Good morning Henrik, I hope this finds you well. We had a lovely stay at Son Palou, thank you. I would rate the food, cleanliness, value for money and service as 5/5 and 4/5 for sleep quality. We had two single beds pushed together rather than a double and my husband kept falling in between them. That’ll teach him! The Son Palou was exactly what I hoped for. We did all the hikes recommended from the hotel and relaxed in the gardens and around the pool with its fabulous infinity edge reading books. Bliss. The food was exceptional – especially the cold soups and the “Zino” white chocolate pudding. I would definitely recommend the Son Palou for a short relaxing break – I agree with you that 3 to 4 days is probably ideal and enough if you don’t have a car – and we hope to return possibly next year if the timing ties in with my son’s cricket touring programme. Thank you also so much for your help – your service was excellent and I have recommended your website to a number of people. With kind regards

Overview

The country estate of Son Palou dates back to the 14th century and is situated on a hill covered with green apple trees, from which you can enjoy magnificent views over the valley of Orient in the Tramuntana mountains.

Son Palou offers an extension of fields and mountains of approximately 150 ha (1.5 km2), where you can go walking, hiking, mountain biking, mushroom picking and watch the apple and cherry harvest that is being done at the splendid farm plantations.

Completely renovated in 2001, the estate of Son Palou is pleased to offer all the comforts of a modern hotel using the latest technology, but still preserving the character and rural architecture that is typical of the Mallorcan mountain farms.

All rooms are furnished in an individual and tasteful style and include a bathroom with a bath or shower, toilet, hairdryer and bathrobe, safe, mini-bar, telephone, satellite TV, ISDN connection and adjustable air-conditioning and heating. Some rooms also have a terrace.

On the estate, there is also a small luxury villa with two bedrooms, just 800 meters from the manor house, and an easy walk or drive to the Finca Hotel Son Palou with all its amenities. This villa is ideal for couples, groups of friends or families who are looking for peace and quiet, pristine nature and perfect privacy. While staying in the villa you will still have access to all of the hotel's facilities and your breakfast is served either in the villa or at the hotel, whatever you prefer.

One of the most important and distinctive features of Finca Son Palou is the highly renowned restaurant which offers modern Mediterranean cuisine based on traditional recipes and cooking methods and elaborated with the finest local produce to create a daily-changing menu full of original and often surprising tastes. The hotel offers a friendly and efficient table service, and also offers an excellent wine cellar with many delicious local wines on offer.

From spring to autumn it is possible to take lunch or dinner outdoors on the beautiful terrace from where you will be able to enjoy fantastic sunsets and breathtaking views across the Orient valley.

While staying at Son Palou you will have the opportunity to experience the charm and tradition of a bygone era.
