HOTELS

Hi Henrik

We had a very nice break thank you, notwithstanding filling out forms and arranging Covid tests! But I guess that’s the only way to travel at the moment!

We liked the Hermitage but found it slightly impersonal - the building is beautiful of course but the set up was a little too ‘hotel-like’ for our taste albeit very spacious and clean. We did not like the memory foam mattress- too hot! Consequently didn’t sleep very well. The balcony area didn’t offer privacy either although there was no occupant next door until our last night.
The service was very good and the staff helpful; the food was good but not exceptional. Fresh orange juice for breakfast would have been nice rather than out of a carton; after all we were in the land of oranges!
Overall I would rate it mostly 4s. Value -wise slightly overpriced. But we appreciated being able to be accommodated at the last minute so thank you for that!
Hope that’s helpful.

Best wishes

How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 4, Food: 4, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 4, Sleep quality: 5. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? YES. Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? WONDERFUL WELCOMING STAFF IN A LOVELY SERENE LOCATION.

H, We had a great time, thank you for all your help and suggestions. We liked both locations, they complemented one another. L' hermitage is wonderful, Mar i Vent was a great location, but the building was a bit tired and some of the staff a bit grumpy. Although this is opinion is partly due to the comparison with L'hermitage.  We will be returning for future holidays with you.

Dear Henrik, Thank you for the mail. We had a truly lovely stay at L'hermitage. As for ratings, we would award 5 for service, value, cleanliness, sleep and probably 3/4 for food. We eat in the restaurant twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, the reception staff and the housekeeping staff were outstanding, amongst the loveliest people we have ever met, and we are in the hotel business. The restaurant staff were not of the same calibre. We would recommend the hotel and will return. Thank you for all your help. Best,

Overview

The valley of Orient is an oasis of peace and tranquility surrounded by nature: olive trees, oak forests, aromatic herbs and a varied vegetation which is unique to this valley. It was precisely the beauty of this valley that motivated Don Feliu de Cabrera back in the 1950′s, to convert the 400 year-old stately home into a wonderful monastery.

Nowadays L’Hermitage consists of a main living area with an oil mill, a tower, annexes which are bedrooms, a herb garden. All of this comprises a beautiful estate.

L’Hermitage has 20 bedrooms and offers an excellent service as a 4 star hotel demands. Many of the rooms are decorated in Mallorcan style, some of them with fireplaces, antique furniture, terraces, air conditioning, direct access to the garden and spectacular views of the Alfabia mountain range.

Without doubt, you will be seduced by the harmony of this very special place. A place where, long ago, travelers would stop and enjoy the hospitality provided by the monks.

The restaurant of L’Hermitage has the privilege of being located inside one of the most beautiful oil mills of Mallorca. Where years ago the oil used to be pressed, guests can now sit back and be wined and dined with the exquisite dishes and international cuisine. If you wish to enjoy the fresh air and the countryside you may also have your meal on the patio which overlooks spectacular stone arches and the tower which in bygone days was used as a water tank.

Apart from the two tennis courts, the sauna and the swimming pool there is also Wellness en Suite: Aromatherapy, massages and facial treatments.

This is also an ideal place for walking, taking in the spectacular views, and the paths start from the hotel. You’ll find several locked gates going into the neighboring fields and the keys are available upon request.

One of the favorite itineraries is the one that goes to the Alaró Castle or the finca Es Verger; these are real beauty spots and the views are breathtaking. Do not forget to bring comfortable footwear.
