For one or two nights we could definitely put up with the slight inconvenience of the noise. All the staff were superb. The ambiance and the location perfect. Great find and hope I can visit again soon.

Thanks Henrik we had a lovely stay overall. In terms of our itinerary:

- Costa Dor - loved this location. Amazing view, nice room with a balcony, helpful staff, great restaurant service. Only slight downside was food itself was not very good, especially compared to other hotels. Larger scale catering but not nearly as much attention to detail. Restaurant food a bit mediocre but worth eating there anyway for the view. Would definitely go back.
- second hotel, Sa Carrotja, near ses salines. Incredibly helpful staff, lovely big pool, great room, delicious breakfast, pretty gardens, can walk to see salines. Would definitely go back. 
- hotel san jordi  Pollenca. Staff very friendly, clean, breakfast lovely but would not stay there again. We had a downstairs room which was like being on the street opposite a busy restaurant. The room was set up with large shutters so you had a small shaft of light at the top. Nothing dried in it and it started to feel very damp. It was not a good place to spend time due to lack of natural light. We did ask to be moved but were told nothing was available. We were very keen to leave. Pool pretty but too small for amount of people and often full with children. 
 
Thanks for your help, and to reiterate overall we had a great holiday but would not put people in san jordi again unless they can confirm you won’t be in the basement rooms.

As I was recommended hotel for what I needed ( quiet, no children, pool/beach) I would pass on that recommendation
Monica ,especially, at the Reception desk was very helpful and easy
Cleaners were delightful and hard working
Atmosphere was quiet , almost Monkish ( which suited me)  so much so that when a couple were just talking  or laughing it seemed to pierce the air for others.Not a criticism of people enjoying themselves .
Sleep quality depends on the person I guess. But I enjoyed waking up at 5am .
The value for money issue has to be laid against the current world financial climate. I thought it was a bit expensive.
Its failing is the food and how much you pay for it .  It's OK but not worth the prices . Hence the '3'.Ate in the four restaurants in Deia . The best were the Asian Namad and the Tapas outside in Xellini. Italian/Mediterranean  not good.Hated the idea of the apparent  exclusivity  of The Residence and its men with walky-Talkies on the gate . Did not go.
Bicycle prices are high also. 45 euros for a 'regular' bike 55 Euros for an electric. Bus cheaper at 6 Euros into Deia.Timetable provided by reception.
 Would definitely go back again and use Rural Mallorca. Although someone I spoke with there said the prices were going up by 20% next year - which , if true, would be prohibitive for me .You responded quickly which was helpful, especially this time as it was a late booking for me and my friend as we both needed  calm head space for different reasons.The free transfer was extremely helpful and appreciated as airport was busy coming in.
   Would have been helpful to know you needed a mask to travel on the bus.We waited an hour first time and then weren't allowed on.Perhaps reception or even you could tip the wink to customers. If it was posted somewhere then I missed it .It happened to another couple a few days later.
Palma surprising and lovely. Medieval and Castilian.Took the bus. 
I don't use social media .
If I had to go to Mallorca again I would get in touch with you to ask if there was somewhere similar to Costa D'Or as alternative.

Just to say thank you for organising our hotel/transfer yesterday from the Costa Dor to Palma Airport.  Our driver was most helpful and spoke excellent English’

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Costa Dor, an excellent hotel with a great staff team with a slight blip – the food.  Breakfast was great but when it came to the evening meal the menu was the same almost every night and the quality of the cooking very average (I think they used the same sauce on many dishes).  We did speak to the head waiter and ask why they did not include more local dishes instead of the rather ‘international’ menu and he agreed and asked us to mention it in our report on the hotel.  To sum up – a hotel that would be fine for a couple of nights but not so good for an entire week unless you chose to eat out at other restaurants.

A few specific points:
1. There was a gym immediately below our room which was sometimes noisy from the exercise being done - weights or running machine we couldn’t tell. 
2. There were problems with the drains for the first few days with a faint smell of sewage outside our door. 
3. The Room Service option didn’t seem to exist or if it did it was well hidden. 

Overall though these were minor and it was a beautiful place to stay and we would recommend it to others.

A real lovely hotel in a special location. Eating dinner in the open air watching the sun go down across the sea into a lovely sunset  is quite special.

Good to hear from you , I was meaning to get in touch and thank you for organising everything , particularly at 8 am on Sat! 

Despite the screw up on Sat with the flight, we had a great time, too short though tbh going that far. 

The hotel was great,  I wouldn’t say the rooms are amazing , quite basic infact which was at first a little disappointing,( 2 x single beds for example) though when you compare it to the prices of the other hotels in the area, its value for money.

Service was great , friendly staff and nice and quiet.

We had an issue when arrived late on sat night and the cab only took cash , so had to go back into Deia to the cash machine which after travelling for 12 hours wasn’t ideal….. only took cash on way back too… though had the cash luckily… 

Being situated out of Deia,  it seems everyone struggles with cabs, we had to wait a number of times for dinner and lunch and worried we would even get back at night! 

Not sure why they dont operate a shuttle bus to and from Deia - though Im sure the cab drivers would have an issue with that …

We had a lovely quiet break at the Costa Dor, sadly only 2 days, Henrik at Rural Hotels was very efficient and helpful , even at 7.30 am on the Saturday when we learned we had been bumped on our flight! 
The staff were all very kind and helpful, rooms were little basic , but when you compare that with other Hotels in the Deia area , its good value for money and in a lovely secluded location.

It is such a beautiful spot - the view out to the sea. was breathtaking  It was s0 private and quiet-  tucked away in olive groves and the magnificent mountains behind. We had to pinch ourselves - too beautiful to be true.!

We would rate the hotel at 5.

The staff were all so delightful and kind.

From the women who cleaned our rooms to the reception staff and the restaurant staff.  The evening restaurant were particularly delightful and attentive. 

My mother is 88 !!- she was very impressed and tough by their kindness.

Thank you so much for organising the two airport transfers. It was hard to get a taxi in Mallorca. It made our journey to and from the airport - stress-free and very reassuring. Thanks so much for organising this.

We had a very good holiday and liked both hotels very much.   The staff in both were excellent as was the cleanliness.   Breakfasts in both were good and the meals we had at Costa D’Or we’re on the whole good although they do tend to overdo the salt. We didn’t have an evening meal at Cala San Vicente.  As far as value for money goes I think Cal San Vicente was probably better  as the room was a very good size and the one we had had a very nice balcony.   We much appreciated having the upgrade at Costa D’Or because having the balcony with mountain view was infinitely preferable to having only an upper window opening which we would have had with our original booking,  I would not have been quite so happy about, so many thanks for organising that for us.   I think the Costa D’Or is quite expensive given the size of the rooms, but it has an amazing position which is lovely,  as is the pool.
I think we would certainly recommend both to friends.

I just wanted to say thank you for organising an upgrade for us. We haven’t got a sea view but we have a very nice room with a balcony which is actually better. It’s a very nice hotel with a fantastic location.

I wanted to let you know how very much we appreciate your suggestions and advice in putting together our Majorcan holiday. We have absolutely adored both Costa D'Or and Son Grec. Both such unique, special and gorgeous places to stay, we've hugely enjoyed them both.

Wish this wasn't our last day but all good things come to an end.

Two beautiful hotels, Costa D-Or and Son Grec. Although quite near to one another both quite unique and a lovely contrast to have four nights in each. Costa D-Or is a complete rural getaway whereas Son Grec in close proximity to Soller, a beautiful town with great choice of restaurants and culture - Picasso and Miro, and the sweet tram to the Port. Each hotel was impeccable and we were very happy to have stayed at both.

We very much enjoyed Costa d’Or and would rate it highly probably 4 overall. The location was excellent with good access to the coastal path which was good for us as we walk a lot. The food was very good although more international than Mallorca. Overall a very good recommendation, thank you.

The two hotels were both very excellent and clearly scored very high on all the criteria you mentioned. The Costa d'or however was at a different level in terms of food, much better, but also catered to another clientele. The Binibona Hotel is really a family hotel with lot's of kids playing in the pool. It is a good starting point for different cycling routes through and to discover Mallorca.  The BINIBONA room's in the new wing are very nice and the private terrace with the sunbeds wonderful. At the Costa d'Or they were more limited and unfortunately, who comes first serves first was here the rule. This however is definitely compensated by the access to the sea.

We recommended both hotels to my mother-in-law and would also recommend them to friends.

Good to hear from you. We had a fabulous stay. The hotel was perfect. The position was outstanding the staff were very helpful and the food was delicious

I would give it a top 5 in all areas apart from value for money as we payed 100 Euros extra per day for a seaview which we did have in theory (room 11) but a large tree obscured most of it and we didn’t have a balcony so couldn’t sit and enjoy it. The rooms themselves were great. Our daughters was lovely she was in room 10, gorgeous high ceilings, double sink etc. Nicer than ours really

The only other thing to mention was the confusing hotel name - you were the only person to refer to it as costa nord

Hi Henrik, We really loved our stay at Costa Nord and would be happy to give full marks to everything. We thought the the service and staff were excellent and the food was consistently some of the best we have ever eaten, please send our compliments to the chef! We have been visiting Deia for 30 years and are amazed it has taken us until now to discover your wonderful hotel. We had planned to return next May to celebrate my birthday, however when we spoke to the reception we were told that we could not be guaranteed a room with a sea view and balcony, the only negative about our stay was the lack of balcony, the view was great from room 111 but we very much missed having a balcony. Once again thank you for a wonderful experience, we absolutely loved our stay with you and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Best wishes

Thank you Heinrik -it was all very nice, apart from a bit of a problem with the smell in the bathroom. They did something which helped a lot, but probably something needs attention during the closed season. I filled in a questionnaire in the hotel. Thanks for all the help with the arrangements.

Dear Henrik,  I meant to drop you an email when we got back.  The hotel was wonderful, very peaceful and no children policy was a bonus during half term.  I have put our scores below.  Very friendly and helpful staff.  We spent most of the time hiking and the staff were really helpful recommending hikes and how to get around (bus and boat). Thanks Henrik, Our stay at Hotel CostaD'Or was very good would rate 5 for all , the service was particularly good, really lovely staff who were cheerful and helpful.Rooms incredibly clean,and as quiet as a hotel can be! But the big selling point is the situation, the best views of the sea and easy access for walking. Maybe a bit tough for the unadventurous on the driving as it's a very windy road up and down, but that makes it all the more tucked away! There is a relatively frequent bus service and fantastic location for cyclists. We would definitely recommend this to friends, even just to go and have a meal there! We played tennis on the tennis court , which needs some love and attention but what a location! All in all a good place to stay, within reach of Soller and Deia etc.. Best Regards
