Scenic Soller

Posted: Saturday, 19th June 2021

Café culture, vibrant festivals, aromatic citrus and ancient architecture. Soller certainly is the Mallorcan village of a hundred attractions.

No Mallorcan experience would be complete without enjoying fresh local fare. Check out the Central Placa Constitucid in Soller that offers a feast of flavours and options. Trendy tapas to rich local ice cream, exquisite pastries to freshly-squeezed orange juice directly from the groves that embrace the village.

Soller keeps you replete in more ways than merely gastronomically. Quintessential Mallorcan architecture is everywhere you turn, starting with those narrow winding alleys flanked by traditional homes. Sipping coffee in the town square you cannot help but be mesmerised by the towering majesty of Sant Bartomeu church. Baroque structuring, modernist façade and arched tower combine to make this Soller landmark a magnificent sight.

If you are willing to take a stroll your feet may take you to the cypress tree lined cemetery or prominent buildings like La Posada de Ca´n Prohom and La Posada de Montcaire. Meander along Gran Via avenue to observe lavish ‘orange money’ manor homes. Or get your fill of local Mallorcan history at the natural science museum, beautiful botanical gardens or old world Museu del Casal de Cultura.

Mountain biking, hiking and road cycling opportunities abound in Soller. Of course the picturesque nearby Port de Soller opens up a raft of nautical activities too, from boat charters to scuba diving.

Certainly you can make a day trip to Soller but you will almost certainly want to linger longer. That is where hotels in Soller come in so handy. When considering possible hotels in Soller, be sure to check out:
