Hi Henrik, Mallorca was amazing, as it always is!  Sorry, I had thought that I’d e-mailed you after we got back but maybe I didn’t. Please see my comments below. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5 Everyone at Es Puig is so friendly and accommodating. Food: 5 The breakfasts are perfect, couldn’t want for any more . . . and in a beautiful setting. Cleanliness: 4 No complaints. Value for money: 4 The suite we had is relatively basic but I’m sure we’re paying for the location as well. Sleep quality:  4 occasionally some noise from the road outside and definitely the room above. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes, we already do.  Friends from the USA & UK stay there on our recommendation. Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay?  Always a warm welcome, perfect location and delicious breakfasts

Dear Henrik, We had a nice holiday – it was good to wake up to blue skies and sunshine with warm, summery weather, each day.  I know this is not guaranteed in October, even in Majorca! We were (as you know) in an apartment, just up the road, so our contact with the hotel itself was relatively small. Our experience of service – asking for a hairdrier, more pillows, help with Ryanair booking etc – was good  - say 5. Food – we did our own shopping. Cleanliness – the apartment was clean and was kept clean – 5. Value for money – good – 5. Sleep quality – very quiet. Two of the party needed different pillows, but the hotel offers a range and they were immediately supplied. We found the beds a little hard so again some of the party didn’t sleep very well. Say 4. Yes, we would recommend the hotel. General sentences: we found the Hotel des Puig to be an excellent place to stay, with attentive service.  We would certainly recommend it to others. I will probably be in touch with you again about other holiday before too long. Thanks for all your help. Best wishes

Dear Henrik, We loved the hotel. It was well run, friendly and the staff were all really helpful. I would give a 5/5 rating for all your categories below. The breakfasts were exceptionally good with a wide range of very fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, soft boiled eggs etc. Overall a great experience in a wonderful location. Thank you for your help with our booking. We certainly hope to visit again. Best wishes

Dear Henrik, Thank you for your email and for all your help in organising our holiday. We had a wonderful time and loved the hotel. Definitely 5 star rating for everything. I would certainly recommend it. Review below as requested; We have just returned from 5 nights at Hotel des Puig and could not recommend it more highly. It is central, very comfortable, and beautifully run. We all had rooms with balconies and beautiful views. The simple breakfasts are delicious (and how sensible to provide a Nespresso so guests can have their coffee just how they like it !). There is a charming courtyard with pool, and the proprietors could not have been more helpful suggesting and organising places to eat. It really is a gem. Best wishes,

Hi Henrik, Hotel was perfect in every way apart from some totally horrendous children who screamed & shouted all the time! Totally spoilt our holiday. 4 of all needed a break from our working lived,  & in need of peace & quiet, which we certainly didn't get. The manager did what he could. Very bad parenting, and  most hotel guests evacuated! Shame as the hotel and setting was gorgeous. I think the hotel would be much better to go child free as there is insufficient space for children.  However we made the most of the break. Thanks for organising it.

Hi Henrik, We had a wonderful time, many thanks. We had a lovely time in Deia at the Hotel des Puig. We stayed in a double room for two nights which was quite small but clean and comfortable, and then moved to a junior suite which was really lovely – we had our own terrace with separate access to the pool, a fantastic bathroom, a huge bed, choice of pillows, a coffee machine and more toiletries so all these were appreciated. The breakfasts are great and the pools are wonderful.. The only minor suggestions for improvements are that the bolster pillows in the double room were very large and firm and we did not sleep well with them. Mosquito plug-in devices would be appreciated as we were both bitten despite applying roll-on lotion. Sometimes we went out to read or lie by the pool and there were no sun loungers as they were either taken or reserved with towels. When we saw the waiter he went and found some more. The restaurants in Deia were really interesting and there was lots of choice and plenty of fresh fish. Robert Graves’ house was a special visit as we were the only people there and we also enjoyed Miramar nearby, a day in Valdemossa and several walks in the area. We definitely hope to return. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service:  5, Food:5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality:3.5. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes.

Dear Henrik, We liked the hotel very much and the apartment was spacious and well equipped with spectacular views.  It is a lovely area.  Unfortunately, as anticipated, because we were not on the top floor, we did not sleep well because of noises from above, particularly what sounded like a fan or generator buzzing through the night.  This seemed to penetrate even ear plugs. So we would give a 5 for everything apart from quality of sleep, which would get a 2.  We would recommend the hotel to others with the proviso that they ensure they get cast iron assurances that any special requests will be fulfilled.

Hi Henrik, Mallorca was wonderful, as it always is! And Es Puig certainly suits us perfectly – great location, they do a perfect breakfast, fab setting and nice to have the little pool to sit around . . . what more could you need.  The only downside is that our room/bathroom was a bit small (my fault for not booking a better room) so we would definitely do one of their junior suites next time.  Oh and the staff are all so friendly and helpful ~ we’ll definitely be re-booking. I’d score 5 on all of the points below except for the sleep quality which I’d give 3 as it is pretty noisy – both inside the hotel and outside. Thanks again for everything. Kind regards,

Henrik, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Mallorca finding the cycling, walking and swimming to be fantastic. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service: 3 Food: 3 Cleanliness: 4 Value for money: 3 Sleep quality:3 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? yes. Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? yes. Overall we liked the hotel but just a few points of criticism.1) The room was a bit cramped and with little storage space for clothes. 2) We should have been told that there was building work next door which was very noisy in the morning. Regards,

DH 10/15

Dear Henrik, We had a wonderful stay there thank you.  I would score 5 on everything except sleep quality - which i would give a 4 - the air con is quite specific and so the shutters etc need to be firmly closed for it to work which for me just means it's very very dark at first but that's just a personal preference.  We would definitely go back there as we were made to feel very comfortable by the very friendly and helpful manager and staff.  The hotel is in a fabulous location with stunning mountain views and has a relaxed ambience - the honesty bar arrangement being a really nice touch.  The location is is fabulous.  We will certainly come back to you if we are looking at Majorca or Tuscany. Many thanks.

Dear Henrik, Apart from the fact that it wasn’t long enough, we had a lovely stay.  Es Puig suited us perfectly, very friendly staff, wonderfully fresh fruit at breakfast, nice little pool and perfectly situated for the restaurants in Deia (we ate at Sebastian and El Barrigon Xelini). Thanks so much for organising it and yes, I’m sure we’re back as my husband loves the cycling there. Please see below for my ratings. Service: 4.5 Food: breakfast: 5 Cleanliness: 4.5 Value for money: 4.5 Sleep quality: 4.5  Kind regards,

CH 07/15

5 for every factor - so wonderful!

Hello, we had an excellent break - rate everything highly ie 5. Love the new pool and all the renovations. Have all ready recommended to friends - will be back again next year. Staff were so helpful - no complaints at all.

Dear Hendrik, Happy to give you a quick review of our second visit to Des Puig in Deya.  As before I have no hesitation in giving 5 stars for each of food, cleanliness, service and value and would perhaps give 4 for quality of sleep but can't really blame the hotel for the fact that Spanish bars not close till about 3am! The beautiful amphitheater setting of Deya  does mean that noise at night drifts up the hill .  We had a very relaxing enjoyable holiday and hope to return again some time. Thank you for your help . PS  We were staying in one of the 'Rural' apartments but had the chance to look in one of the newly renovated 'superior ' apartments which are absolutely stunning and I believe Lucien and team are hoping to convert one or two more over the winter

Dear Henrik, We've been back for a few days now and I would like to give you some feedback on our holiday. Firstly, thank you so much for your quick and effiecient handling of our requests. We knew nothing of our destination before we left the UK except by reputation and we were delighted by the beauty of the area. The two villages we stayed at were lovely. We walked every day except on the "changeover" day when we ventured into Palma. What surprised us was the quality of the restaurants, every one had very high standards and the attitude of everyone we met was wonderful. We never felt as just tourists and were treated with respect and warmth. The apartment in Deya was ideal. The only thing we would have liked was an instruction booklet on running the apartment with a guide to where to put rubbish, how to work the telly, aircon etc. We wern't sure what to do with towels and sheets and cleaning before we left. When I asked about this the response made us feel a bit foolish as if we should have known that rubbish is put in the large bin round the corner from the hotel! This is a very minor point and obviously did not spoil any aspect of the holiday. The hotel in Fornalutx was an absolute delight. The quirkiness and architectural details details fascinated us and we would definitely recommend it to our friends. Joan, the manager, was very helpful and the staff were charming. My only minor grouse is that iIwould have liked instructions on where to park before I got there as my satnav wasn't up to the job, but only a minor quibble. Once again, many thanks Henrik, Kind Regards,

TC 09/14

Dear Henrik, My apologies for not responding sooner but we are just back from our vacation and back in work! Just to let you know that we had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel des Puig. It also helped that the weather was fantastic. To answer your questions I would say that everything was great for a hotel of this price and we would certainly recommend it to our friends and we would stay there again if we visit Deya again. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The positive side of the hotel was the location, free parking and the price. It was also a quite location which was very much appreciated. Only one or two suggestions to improve the stay. 1.It was unusual not to have some English’ speaking TV channels – or maybe we could not work the TV correctly! 2.The use of the terrace in the evening was not encouraged, in fact, we were requested not to use it, although a few of us did sit outside and enjoy the warm evenings. The reason being that sometimes guests are noisy and disturb the other guests. This may have happened once or twice but if it is explained to people that if you use the terrace please respect the other guests, I think most people will underatsnd. 3.We asked if the hotel could book us a tennis court in the Residencia Hotel and the restaurant in Cala Deya but were told that they did not take reservations. However, when we went to the Tennis Center and the Restaurant, we could book a court and a table. The above comments are relatively minor but can be easily solved by the hotel. Hope the above are useful comments. Thanks for your help and good support in organizing the hotel etc. All the best

Hello, we had a really wonderful stay thank you. I would rate everything as a 5. Will defiantly return next year ! Adalena was just lovely very attentive and smiley - nothing too much trouble . A wonderful rustic hotel in a stunning location - a real gem! Thank you for the suggestion in the first place. Loved Deia and all the restaurants.  Regards

How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 5 Sleep quality:5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Definitely. Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? Deia and the Hotel Des Puig was magnificent.  We would highly recommend the modern apartments that are beautifully clean, great views of the hills, excellent internet connection and very helpful staff.  The pool was divine to swim in with a little gym off the side.  We ate locally which has an  array of  wonderful cafes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I did not try the hotel food. Thank you for all your help on this holiday, I would love to go to Ibiza at some point so will look at hotels for there through you.

How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality:4 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes. I would recommend a couple to have a romantic holiday in deia but definitely not the place for families. The stairs and hills with buggies and young children is not at all practical.  I wouldn't have booked the hotel if I had known I had to climb 6 flights of stairs to get to my room! I felt room number 4 that my parents in law had was quite expensive for what it was. I would have priced it at about €120/130 a night.  The breakfasts were lovely apart from the coffee was not good at all and the staff were conveniently not around at breakfast to make a coffee from the actual coffee machine which I found annoying! The selection of food was really good.  Deia is a stunning place I would recommend anyone go there and would recommend hotel des Puig but not anyone with young children.  The staff were all lovely and you were very kind and helpful thank you

Hi Henrik, Hotel des Puig would get a 4 for everything except value for money which would be a 5. Deia was great and I really liked the Hotel des Puig and its owner. Regards,

Hi Henrik, I am so sorry I haven’t been in touch since we got back, we hit the ground running and have been very busy with work ever since we got home, it slipped my mind! I have to say that Hotel d’es Puig was everything we hoped it would be and more, it’s such a lovely, friendly little hotel with some serious Mallorcian style! We loved it from the second we walked in and were made to feel very at home, the honesty bar and the welcome atmosphere was just what we needed and it was our home from home for the few days we were there. We even cancelled plans with friends on the last day we were in Mallorca in favour of soaking up the atmosphere by the pool a little longer! I will certainly go back! There was a wedding at La Residencia over the weekend that we were staying in Deia, which meant that the beautiful live music they had during the day could be enjoyed from our poolside beds at D’es Puig! There is also a local resident learning the saxophone or something so he provided some lovely tunes as well (he is still learning!). Deia is an amazing place (well recommended), I love that it’s so small and therefore literally can’t fit too many tourists in, which means that you get a real sense of being in a traditional mountain village. The scenery is spectacular – waking up with the mountains towering over us every morning is just fantastic. We went down to the beach as well – Cala Deia, the water was lovely and clear so after a long lunch and a large carafe of wine we went for a swim around the bay. In short, I didn’t want to leave, we met some lovely people there too – the guy who rents out the top floor of D’es Puig with his wife every September wanted to take us for dinner but it was the day that we left! I particularly enjoyed a bit of dancing and some cocktails at the little bar in the village as well J We had a great time in Palma too, a lovely meal at Meson C’an Pedro and a nice evening – but the real highlight was D’es Puig. Thankyou Henrik for being so kind and helpful during the booking process, it’s been a real pleasure to deal with you. Please also pass on our sincere thanks to all at the D’es Puig for welcoming us into their beautiful gem of a hotel….we will be back! I’ve answered your questions below Service: 5 (Great for what we wanted, friendly and not overbearing staff and service, prompt when needed and left alone to enjoy the surroundings otherwise) Food: 5 (breakfast was amazing!! I would visit again just for that – perfect) Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 5 Sleep quality:5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Certainly!

Henrik, Hotel des Puig was lovely, just give it 5 for everything. It was really relaxing, the location was amazing. The staff were very good without being intrusive. Our daughter and her husband already want to go. However I would not recommend to anyone with small children or with mobility problems purely due to the nature of the general surroundings. Thanks

We couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves more. The hotel was in a great position, all of the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was beyond our expectations and we were lucky in that the other hotel guests were friendly.Service:5 Food:5 Cleanliness:5 Value for money:5 Sleep quality:5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend?
