Hi Henrik, We had a fabulous time. So perfect. Everywhere was wonderful. We particularly loved Es Castell and would return there anytime! The staff everywhere were quite charming but discreet and the food at Es Castell was wonderful. We loved the pool at Mirabo and the room was very comfortable, the host there is charming. The garden and the birds at Son Sant Jordi and Pollenca itself were quite charming too. Es Castell gets our vote though! Many thanks for your marvellous help and attention. Best wishes,

Thank you very much for the e-mail and sincere apologies for taking so long to reply. I am afraid we have been putting in some long hours at work since our return! We had an absolutely lovely holiday, it was just what we needed, very chilled and away from all the hustle and bustle of our normal lives. I am happy to rate the areas that you have listed below. Service 4.5 The service on the whole was really good. Lee was especially helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. To us the extras such as the coffee with cakes, plates, knives, oils etc. were given freely if you wanted to do your on spread on your terrace. The bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch. James was very helpful about accommodating our washing in the boiler room and places to stow the bikes. His local knowledge was appreciated in relation to several queries that we had. The only negative was at breakfast extras such as eggs, bacon were available if you asked but never freely offered to you if you didn’t. Food 3.5 Breakfast was lovely and fresh, with a wide variety available, the only negative was as mentioned above. Dinner we felt was too late in the evening and the portions were very small. Bearing in mind we were out there cycling and would come back tired and hungry, earlier dinner would have been appreciated and more bread, vegetables etc. would have been welcome. Cleanliness 3.5 All of the communal areas were really well looked after, maintained and cleaned. We stayed in the suite for the last 6 days and although the bathroom was cleaned, our room was dusty and mucky on the floor. A real positive though was the bedding and towels which were regularly changed and plentiful in supply. Value for money 3-4 We felt the price of the room was worth it when we were in the suite, but would have felt disappointed to pay that rate for the room that we were initially allocated – very small, no terrace and one small window. However as mentioned above the extras such as the lovely location, free coffee, cakes, wine, loads of places to sit in peace and tranquility were just what we were looking for. Sleep 4 On the whole we slept really well the beds were clean and comfortable, plus the whole location helped to fully chill us out. The reason its a 4 and not a 5 is that we did not sleep as well in the smaller room, due to its size and proximity to other rooms and no carpets in the hallway outside the room. Yes, I would recommend it to a friend, in fact we were so taken by the whole location and atmosphere that we feel it would be an ideal place for a wedding ( possibly one of our daughters!) We would happily return and would book through yourselves again. This is our second trip to Majorca and it is definitely the start of of our love for the Island. I hope this is helpful. Kindest regards

Dear Henrik, Many thanks for your help in organising our trip. We really enjoyed our short break very much. The island scenery far exceeded our expectations and your suggested trips were excellent! We both really enjoyed our stay at Finca Es Castell. We very much appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and although it is a bit remote, the facilities and service could not be faulted. Very many thanks for your assistance. I am sure we will return! Kind regards,

The hotel building dates back to the XI Century and the property has been in the same family since the XV Century. As you enter Es Castell you step into a bygone era where the secrets of past generations are worn into the thick stone that makes up its walls.

A dirt road takes you from the sleepy hamlet of Binibona past rolling fields dotted with gnarled olive trees and suddenly you are rewarded with your first glimpse of the old house, where it stands dominating the surrounding countryside. From this elevation the view of the 750 acres that make up the grounds is impressive, encompassing the majestic Tramuntana mountains at the back of the hotel, and the surrounding olive groves at the front, and further still, stretching over the many villages that dot the lower countryside, all the way up to bay of Alcúdia.

Pass through the cobbled patio, past the medieval well in the courtyard and stop to admire the Almanzara or olive press, or take a walk through the gardens up to the pool, with its dazzle of bougainvillea, the al fresco terrace, where you are likeliest to have your meals, or the roof terrace, where you can appreciate the spectacular view with a cold glass of Pere Seda and a plate of pimientos del padron. Or, if you want to just sit or read, find a secluded spot in the lounge behind the formal dining room, where you can totally unwind in front of the fireplace.

Finca Es Castell has 11 double rooms and 1 junior suite are decorated in traditional Mallorcan style. Each reflects the character of this distinctive location and offers all the modern comforts you are likely to require, including air conditioning, heating, and en-suite bathrooms. All rooms offer spectacular views of the finca and beyond.

The pool and grounds offer simply stunning views, and there are hammocks, sun-beds and easy chairs well spaced out around our four public terraces. The peace and quiet, and attentive, unobtrusive service are almost unique. Around the finca we have walks, running tracks, and a tennis court for those who find all this relaxation a bit much

Much of the produce used in the kitchen is from the Finca Es Castell own grounds – lamb, chicken, oranges, lemons, tangerines, figs, almonds, olives, pears, honey – and from the local markets.

Nothing is frozen, and menus change daily according to availability. Fresh fish abounds in Mallorca and if you are a fish-lover, join the hotel for their weekly trips to the S’Olivar fish market in Palma – you are in for a real treat. Although the emphasis is on Mallorcan specialties, the hotels Italian roots ensure that home-made bread and pasta feature daily on the menu.

The hotel can justifiably be proud of the quality of the food, which has been highly recommended in many press articles, and it will be great part of your holiday enjoyment.
