HOTELS

Hi Henrik,
Happy to give you feedback…….
We have had an absolutely fantastic 10 days! Both Hotels fabulous!

We loved La Carrossa, Hotel beautiful, Food fabulous, Pool really lovely…..excellent….. If we were going to say anything that could be improved on it would simply be that it feels quite stark in that there are very few
Shaded, comfy areas to sit in the evening for outside drinks etc…. Once the pool area is closed there aren’t places to chill other than Bar (which is inside), Bistro or main Restaurant.

That isn’t a negative, just a comparison with Predi Son Jaumell which is more established and has that ‘Greener’ feel to it.

Predi Son Jaumell was wonderful, all the staff made us feel really special and we had their best room for the 5 nights! Fantastic!

Breakfasts as always at both places amazing, light lunches perfect with the exception (this may be a Mallorcan taste) that all Salads were dressed in extremely sweet (fruit Coulis) which was little off putting as Salad in a hot climate is the easiest thing to eatI would have liked more options on that front.

Rooms absolute brilliant, always immaculate and all staff wonderful, some we remember from previous visits and felt like part of the family.

We are already  wondering when to return!

Thank you so much for all your help with getting us our perfect holiday.

Very Best

Hi Henrik,
I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know what a wonderful time we had in Mallorca, and to thank you for your help. In these days of Google and do -it-yourself travel and overwhelming choice, it was such a relief to have a rapid response from you with excellently curated suggestions that suited us perfectly. Both hotels were lovely. We liked Son Grec the better of the two for its peaceful garden, sparkling pool and beautiful rooms set in the perfect location within the heart of the town.  Having said that, Son Jaumell will have very special memories for us since Tim proposed to me there!
If we had one criticism to make of Son Grec ( and this is tiny and just meant as feedback) we would suggest that they make a little bit more effort over the lunch offerings. Most people do not want to leave such a gorgeous place twice during the day to eat out at a restaurant in the town. If they were to get someone to just do one easy “special of the day” ,— something really simple like a good tortilla or a good vegetable dish, or a bowl of cooked prawns with aioli,  that would add some variety to the menu for those who are staying longer than a couple of days. It shouldn’t be too difficult and shouldn’t require a special chef. Anyway— that was our thought.
Once again, thank you very much, and we will certainly remember to come back to you when we are planning our next trip.
With best wishes

Henrik, Just a quick email to say thank you for once again advising us on another amazing hotel. We had a nice 3 day break without the kids so very relaxing. On another note, I am thinking about traveling out to Palma mid-October for nights on business, I will be on my own but can you recommend a nice hotel that does really good food or a hotel near great restaurants? Thank you again,

Hi Henrik, Thanks for your email. We had a great time and really enjoyed moving around the island. Here is some feedback as requested which I’m happy for you to use in full or in parts as you see fit. Son Jaumell: 5 nights, Junior suite, garden terrace: Great start to the holiday as it was a very relaxed place. Peaceful. Easy to get to various beaches and worth doing research on these first to find the less crowded and less touristy ones. Enjoyed a couple of trips to Arta. Food at hotel was good although we were expecting better given the Michelin star chef.  Can Simoneta: 3 nights, Pitch roof, sea view, chill area: Fantastic location and space to this hotel. Food and service excellent and can definitely see ourselves popping back there for short breaks from the UK. The gardens, views, access to beach and the carved steps to the secret cove were all fantastic. We had two meals there in the evening and both didn’t disappoint. The style of all the rooms were lovely. Our room had great views but didn’t realise it was going to be up in the eaves of the building. Thought it would at least have a balcony or terrace. The designated chill out area for it was not welcoming - no view, no umbrella, nothing special to it. We didn't use it. There were plenty of ‘public’ chill out areas that were much better. Lavenida: 2 nights, Luxury Suite: Lovely to spend a couple of days in this village. We have always enjoyed our time there. Lavenida is a fantastic townhouse hotel and has everything you need to explore the village. Great restaurant recommendations and, in fact, all the suggestions and help of the staff was top notch. It is probably owned by someone British and the management, most the staff are British which obviously changes its feel from a Spanish hotel. This was not a problem at all, but for anyone looking for there total Spanish feel/welcome then they should be aware. Cap Rocat: 4 nights, Suite Cap Rocat. We immediately realised why this hotel was considerably more than the others! Unique place, very special and superbly done. For those wanting complete peace and quiet and get away from life then this hotel does just that. Not many local places of note so not a good base for exploring, but you don’t want to leave the place in the first place! Loved the breakfast concept to it being delivered to your terrace at any time that suited you. Our latest was 1245 and was no issue - a lovely long brunch! Our suite (29 I think) only had a spiral staircase to the roof terrace while the others looked like they had stairs and a couple of terraces. If we had any mobility problems then the terrace wouldn’t have been accessible to us. I felt we had the lowest ’standard’ suite. But the hotel oozed class with the staff looking like they were out of perfume adverts and the clientele from Philippe Patek adverts. Ate the the Sea Club a couple of times and found the quality excellent, backed with stunning views across the Bay. Again a hotel which would completely recharge the batteries after a few days there. The staff were excellent - not too stuffy and happy to help at all times. Being sea lovers, the little beach and access steps to the crystal water was a real bonus. It seemed most people used the infinity pool which had fabulous views. As you’d expect from a hotel of this size with only a few rooms, there was never a feeling of being crowded. I look forward to travelling with you again as I like the intimate knowledge you have of the region and I feel there are plenty of other good hotels still to be discovered. Thank you very much Henrik for organising the trip and I hope you are having a successful season. Kind regards

Dear Henrik, Sorry for taking a while to respond, we've been super busy since we got back. We found the hotel so relaxing and actually felt rested after our stay - not always the way when holidaying with a toddler! The staff were lovely, friendly and fun and they organized a great babysitter for us the two nights we ate in the restaurant. They were also very understanding when our son drew all over the cream sofa in brown pen...  Our suite (20) was perfect for us. We had an enclosed terrace out the front (no way for our son to escape!) which was great. Meant we could sit out there while he was napping in the middle of the day and at night when he was asleep. So all in all the perfect week! Thanks so much for finding it for us. We are already thinking about going back to Mallorca next year. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service: 5 Food: 5  Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 5 Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Wholeheartedly YES and we have already done so! Best

Hello Henrik We had a lovely time, thank you for all your help! Son Jaumell is heavenly! We had a very relaxing and chilled time at Son Jaumell and loved just spending time on the daybeds by the pool reading, chatting and drinking rose in the sunshine. It isn't the most child friendly place however, our children who are pretty well behaved were asked to keep quiet in the pool and if you have a toddler you'll need to think about food in advance. But it is a gorgeous place, the staff are friendly, the rooms are a good size with very comfortable beds and gorgeous bathrooms in a beautiful rural setting. We came home feeling very revitalised and refreshed!  I've answered your questions below.  Service: 4 Food: 3 in the terrace, mainly because it got a bit monotonous towards end of week rather than quality which was excellent, would be good if they changed the menu regularly. The paella was really good. 5 in the restaurant.  Cleanliness: 4 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality: 5 - the bed was really comfortable!  Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes  We'll definitely be in touch again!  Best

Furthermore, my MIL got an upgrade, and i know it was thanks to you and the manager (Stefan), great!! Finally, if you want to talk to me about the (small) things that i would improve there let me know, i think everyone could use a good feedback. Have a great Sunday,
