HOTELS

Henrik,

Yes we had an absolutely wonderful time and will definitely be needing your help again.

Can Simonetta
The views across the gardens to the open sea set this hotel apart , initially given room 2 which is totally uninspiring too small and typical of a cheap hotel chain , but a quick word with the receptionist and they found us another room in the beach house . The fact that you can walk straight into Canyamel or over to the sister hotel provides a variety restaurants , both restaurants top class . The steps down  the cliffs to sea level  is a must do , after a big storm  the waves were huge so unsafe for bathing  but that just added an extra level of  drama .

Avenida
Staff were so welcoming and helpful , breakfast was just right  , we had a lovely big room that opened up onto the pool area . My only issue is that the pool courtyard is very small and did feel a little hemmed in and being a town hotel it was quite noisy , but a cracking hotel all the same .

Cap Rocat
Instantly relaxing , the view upon arrival is just jaw dropping and the hotel is a haven of tranquillity and ultra-top service . Not cheap but you get what you pay for . Not sure the hotel can be topped .

I would recommend all of these hotels to friends dependant on what they want from their visit .

Thanks again

Good evening Henrik, I'm so sorry for the late reply. We returned from a fantastic time in Mallorca to hit the ground running and have barely stopped since. Firstly, thank you so much for the gifts you had placed in our rooms, on arrival at Font Santa and on leaving Son Brull. It was a lovely touch and  we were (are) most grateful. As with our previous trips to Mallorca, the hotels you selected were superb in every aspect. Font Santa, Sa Pedrissa and Can Simonetta are all, of course, familiar to us and never disappoint. Son Brull, as a new hotel to us, exceeded our expectations and more than stood alongside the other three hotels. We enjoy moving between hotels and locations as each has it's own character and environment; salt marsh and broad skies, mountain views and coastal coves, clifftop views and sweeping vineyards. What, however, they all have in common is superb food and outstanding service. At every hotel the staff can literally not do enough for you. They are friendly and helpful, yet are unobtrusive. From front of house to housekeeping, we were always greeted cheerfully, with a smile. Another outstanding example of the superb service; if the menu on any evening didn't suit us, the chefs would prepare an alternative selection especially for us even, on one occasion, without any notice. There is no escaping the fact that the hotels and their restaurants are expensive, but it's it's an expense worth paying and one that we shall definitely be paying again soon. We also have not and will not have any hesitation in recommending the hotels and your services to all our friends and family. We'll be back! Kind regards

Hi Henrik, Thanks for your email. We had a great time and really enjoyed moving around the island. Here is some feedback as requested which I’m happy for you to use in full or in parts as you see fit. Can Simoneta: 3 nights, Pitch roof, sea view, chill area: Fantastic location and space to this hotel. Food and service excellent and can definitely see ourselves popping back there for short breaks from the UK. The gardens, views, access to beach and the carved steps to the secret cove were all fantastic. We had two meals there in the evening and both didn’t disappoint. The style of all the rooms were lovely. Our room had great views but didn’t realise it was going to be up in the eaves of the building. Thought it would at least have a balcony or terrace. The designated chill out area for it was not welcoming - no view, no umbrella, nothing special to it. We didn't use it. There were plenty of ‘public’ chill out areas that were much better.
Son Jaumell: 5 nights, Junior suite, garden terrace: Great start to the holiday as it was a very relaxed place. Peaceful. Easy to get to various beaches and worth doing research on these first to find the less crowded and less touristy ones. Enjoyed a couple of trips to Arta. Food at hotel was good although we were expecting better given the Michelin star chef. Lavenida: 2 nights, Luxury Suite: Lovely to spend a couple of days in this village. We have always enjoyed our time there. Lavenida is a fantastic townhouse hotel and has everything you need to explore the village. Great restaurant recommendations and, in fact, all the suggestions and help of the staff was top notch. It is probably owned by someone British and the management, most the staff are British which obviously changes its feel from a Spanish hotel. This was not a problem at all, but for anyone looking for there total Spanish feel/welcome then they should be aware. Cap Rocat: 4 nights, Suite Cap Rocat. We immediately realised why this hotel was considerably more than the others! Unique place, very special and superbly done. For those wanting complete peace and quiet and get away from life then this hotel does just that. Not many local places of note so not a good base for exploring, but you don’t want to leave the place in the first place! Loved the breakfast concept to it being delivered to your terrace at any time that suited you. Our latest was 1245 and was no issue - a lovely long brunch! Our suite (29 I think) only had a spiral staircase to the roof terrace while the others looked like they had stairs and a couple of terraces. If we had any mobility problems then the terrace wouldn’t have been accessible to us. I felt we had the lowest ’standard’ suite. But the hotel oozed class with the staff looking like they were out of perfume adverts and the clientele from Philippe Patek adverts. Ate the the Sea Club a couple of times and found the quality excellent, backed with stunning views across the Bay. Again a hotel which would completely recharge the batteries after a few days there. The staff were excellent - not too stuffy and happy to help at all times. Being sea lovers, the little beach and access steps to the crystal water was a real bonus. It seemed most people used the infinity pool which had fabulous views. As you’d expect from a hotel of this size with only a few rooms, there was never a feeling of being crowded. I look forward to travelling with you again as I like the intimate knowledge you have of the region and I feel there are plenty of other good hotels still to be discovered. Thank you very much Henrik for organising the trip and I hope you are having a successful season. Kind regards

Dear Henrik, I will give you my reaction when we are home again next monday. We have tomorrow a wedding party in Soller.  For now I can tell you that we are extremely happy with Can Simoneta. Everything was really great. It was so nice to have been there. We are now in Son Brull But I must say that Can Simoneta wins on all issues.  Best Regards

PP 06/18

Thanks Henrik, I am reluctant to complete surveys or provide feedback regarding any product as I must get 30 or 40 such requests per week, as a matter of principle I do not have the kind of time required to answer all these. However I can tell you on a general level we thought Can Simoneta was absolutely wonderful/ first class in all respects in the respects you have mentioned. Thank you.

Hello Henrik, Better late than never! Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you after our wonderful holiday in Mallorca. On our return we hit the ground running and, until last week, haven’t stopped! I say until last week because, as evidence of how much we loved your hotel recommendations and the island itself, we took a quick three night/four day break back at Hotel Font Santa to catch the last of some summer sun. All the hotels had their own character and qualities.  Our return to Hotel Font Santa speaks for itself. I wrote a Tripadvisor review of here after our first stay. We changed rooms at Sa Pedrissa from the old-fashioned / traditional main house to the amazing contemporary ‘pool’ rooms which were a complete contrast and could have come out of a film set. We would return here if we could guarantee one of these two rooms. Predi Son Jaumell was the only slight disappointment. The pool area was cramped and untidy, the breakfast somewhat shabbily laid out and, after our earlier stays at adult only hotels, lots of small children running about was not what we hoped for or expected. Nonetheless, the room we had and it’s private terrace overlooking the kitchen garden and vineyard was wonderful. We loved the sea views from Can Simoneta and, like all the hotels, enjoyed the attentive service and wonderful food. We’ll have no hesitation in returning to Mallorca and also in recommending your guidance and services to our friends and family. Kind regards

GH 08/17

Henrik, Thank you for the email – we all thank you for your kind dinner that you gave to us – I sent a photo to the phone number I use with a thank you. I rate the experience as 5 for all categories – we have now come to an end with Can Simoneta – not for any other reason than we have eaten in all the good restaurants, played the golf courses and it is time to move on – I would be happy to look at the Menorca options, we will also go to Sa Pedrissa next year – so please send the hotels near the sea. Can Simoneta offers total peace in sumptuous surroundings with attentive staff, whom are there when you need them and are not intrusive, it is a true 5 star experience by the sea. Kind regards

GS 10/17

Henrik, It was wonderful again – the staff give an excellent personal service, which is so important, even though we had only been once before they remembered quirks such as we are gluten intolerant and the fact my son loved doughnuts and made him some every day – you do not get that type of service in a large 5 star hotel – yes, you get service, but it is not personal, hence why I like hotels such as Can Simoneta. Kind regards

GS 04/17

We had an amazing stay at Can Simoneta, it was incredibly beautiful - an amazing location and very attentive service, all was good although we are not used to so much attention in the service so wouldnt look for something as fussy again, but it was so relaxing and everyone so friendly and helpful. :-)

MP 05/17

Hi Henrik, Firstly, our thanks to you for your work in arranging our holiday. Everything went smoothly, including the weather(!) and we all had a lovely time. Majorca is a beautiful island that we have been to before but not for some years and we were certainly not disappointed this time. Of your 5 categories below we have no hesitation in saying all were 5 star. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful and we would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel, indeed we have already done so. Our only minor criticism would be that if one ate in the hotel every night the menu did not change, but having said that all the food was delicious and the staff did say if we wanted something not shown that it could be prepared. Again, thank you for all your help and we are now looking forward to planning something for next year. Kind regards,

Hi Henrik, Yes all went well and the Triathlon in Peguera went smoothly despite the rough seas for the swim. Many thanks for the bottle of Cava that was a lovely thought! Ratings below fpr both hotels… How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Can Simoneta Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 4, Sleep quality: 3. The new rooms have poorly fitting and light weight doors (always been the same) and any noise in reception or common areas passes through to rooms very easily. Can Verdera Service: 5, Food: 4, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality:5 How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: The speed of response and quality of advice and suggestions was up to Henrik's very high standards. Another terrific week of great hotels, stunning food and fun training!  Cheers

PA 09/16

Hi Henrik, I would recommend Can Simonetta. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 4, Sleep quality: 4. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes. Regards

DH 09/16

Good Morning Henrik, Yes we had a great break in Mallorca..here is some feedback for the 3 hotels we stayed in. Hotel 2: Can Simoneta, Not much you can say really as everything is first class albeit a little pricey. The food is a bit over complex in a long stay and we ate out a couple of nights. There is plenty of choice nearby. A fabulous location. Service: 5, Food: 4, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 5  Hotel 1: Can Ai. We felt very relaxed when we arrived and it is located in a wonderful country setting within easy reach of Soller. The hotel has obviously been expanded over the years and our room was enormous, the old restaurant!  Room 14. The staff were pleasant and helpful if you could find them…it seemed that they were deliberately understaffed so as to make more profit and continue expanding. As a result cleanliness was not top notch and in particular the pool had green algae all around the sides which would not have taken much effort to solve. They tried hard with the food which was more in the “local “style and we ate in 2 nights. Not bad value. Service: 3, Food: 4, Cleanliness: 2, Value for money: 3, Sleep quality: 4. I don’t think we would return. Hotel 3: Font Santa Hotel, A terrific stay as they always deliver with all the facilities which are first class. They have changed their menu offering again and somehow it did not work very well for us. We ate in on BBQ night and the food was not great for the price. Seafood with no flavour, Meat overcooked and tough. We found a great restaurant in the port of Colonia and there are loads of other choices a short drive away. However in terms of what they provide for what you pay it is a value offering! Service: 5, Food: 3, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality 5. Hope this helps

JM 09/16

How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service: 5 Food: 4 Cleanliness: 4 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality:3.5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? YES Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? The room A/C was not very effective. The bed was a little hard. Nevertheless , we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

Dear Henrik, Thanks for your email.  I'm happy to say we had a wonderful time. We thought it was one of the best hotels that we've been to. All of our needs were anticipated and taken care off. We had a wonderful two nights and we are trying to decide when we can go back! We loved the beach house, it provided a home from home feel with just the right level of attention and care. The location is scenic and the sea caves/cliffs are a really unusual feature. It never felt crowded and the complimentary snacks and drinks made it feel like home. I'd have no hesitation in recommending it to my friends. Thank you for getting us into the hotel and organising our booking. We will be keeping in touch!  Best wishes

Henrik, We spoke – it was 5 star all the way – everything was excellent and I don’t please easily – so thank you again for the intro. Kind regard

Dear Henrik, It was the perfect honeymoon! Thank you so much recommending both hotels. We fell in love with Mallorca and would love to go back. I'll try to fill in the survey later this week when I have more time. But I have to say, almost everything will be a 5! Thanks again,

TB 08/15

Dear Henrik, We would like to thank you for all your help.  Our stay at C'an Simoneta was wonderful. It was perfect and will definitely rate as number one destination for a long time.  It suited us perfectly, the location, the size of the hotel, the food, the service, etc etc  Everything gets 5! As to recommending the hotel.. Yes! But the problem is that we don't want our friends to know about it...we want to keep it a secret!  I noted that you also cover Menorca, we will keep that in mind - we might like to go there next summer. You now know what we like so the searching will be quicker next time. Kind regards,

OD 07/15

Hi Henrik, Thanks for your email. I would rate everything with a 5. It is a perfect hotel which I have recommended to all my friends, although I would prefer to keep it as a secret! We had a very luxurious and relaxing time, much needed after a long, tiring British winter. It was heavenly not to have to think about food, all our meals were delicious. It's glorious and I expect we will return! Best wishes

SM 06/15

Dear Henrik, many thanks for your yesterday’s e-mail re Can Simoneta. Although the weather was not too good (2 days sunshine, 4 days rain and wind) we had a very good time in Can Simoneta. The suite was very nice, the service excellent and also the food was very ok. The only thing we had to complain about was a hotel employee who worked with a chainsaw behind our terracy while we were sunbathing. However, we informed the hotel manager on the second day and he stopped the noise. Apart from this tiny little "problem“ our stay was indeed very nice and we have added Can Simoneta to the list of our "preferred hotels“. We shall come back to this lovely place! Kind regards

RM 03/15

Oh Henrik it was first class ! I just simply loved it. It's a tranquil haven and was just what I needed. It's heaven on earth.  The position of the hotel is breathtaking and the resort of Canyamel is so not 'usual' Majorca! - it was so lovely and quiet - perfect. I give everything a score of five - cleanliness, food, all the members of staff from reception to the masseur ! Although I have to give a lower score for sleep quality - room 5 is a noisy room. From the toilets in reception behind my bathroom to the echo of crockery clinking first thing in the morning from the main area and the underneath of the tiled stairs going up through the room to the upper floor ! Its a beautiful place and i had a marvellous holiday. Yes - I would -and have - recommend Can Simoneta and I should love to return !

The place of the hotel is just wonderful and the weather was perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small, even the junior suite, but this was not an issue because of the nice weather and there are a lot of possibilities to stay around the buildings with very nice view. Food was good but in relation to the price it was too expensive, e.g. 15EUR for a small plate with only a few little pieces of cheese is too expensive. We had dinner 4 times because there are not so many good restaurants in this area. Prices for drinks are OK but the dinner was more expensive than in a similar restaurant in Switzerland, which you probably know is also expensive. On the other side, breakfast was perfect and especially my wife loved it. If they are able to improve the kitchen quality to Swiss Standard would be a big advantage. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:  Service: 5 Food: 3 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4 (except food) Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes, but with my comments above

Hi Henrik, Sorry for the delay.  Can Simoneta is expensive but nice. Service: Food: 4 Cleanliness: 4 Value for money: 2 Sleep quality: 2 (we were in the room above reception which was pretty noisy with sounds from the kitchen and hotel related activities) Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes but only for very special occasions because it is very expensive when compared to other hotels in Majorca. Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay? Relaxing and enjoyable regards

Hello Henrik, So sorry it has taken me this long to respond to you. London Life really is to crazy. Please see answer to your questions  below.  We both thank you ever so much for actually one of the best holidays. We loved both the hotels that we stayed in and will defiantly be in touch with you again.  Thank you for all your tips and recommendations they were all tip top How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 5 Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes  Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay?  Can Simoneta was just great, loved all of it, loved the swimming of the rocks and especially our privet deck. Food and service excellent. But especially the views out to sea. Hotel Mirabo has beautiful stunning views and fantastic querki hospitality, the man and his dog. Food amazing. Swimming-pool and walks a perfect way to chill and relax and the views of the thunderstorms magical. Thank you very very much  Love

LL 08/13

We overall enjoyed our stay. Lovely location, very peaceful and lovely setting. Service overall very good except busy when arrived and left standing around. Would have been nice to have been offered something to drink while waited. Food was cooked beautifully but was too much carpaccio  and not enough vegetables. Cleanliness excellent.  Value for money probably a bit expensive for what it was. Sleep quality. The bed was too hard! Would recommend to a friend. Regards

AM 06/13

Hi Henrik, Just going through my Inbox and realised I had not replied to your email of so long ago – many apologies. The hotel was a little bit of heaven, completely idyllic surroundings, very peaceful. We loved it so much we did not bother to hire a car, but ventured out on the hotel bicycles. On a minus point, although our room was nice, it was desperately small, and the bed far too big for the room. Consequently there was no dressing table and inadequate storage. The bathroom was fine. The chef had high and low moments and we did get bored eating in the hotel restaurant as the menu did not vary all week. There were some good places to eat nearby. Service 3-4 Food 3-4 Cleanliness 5 Value for money 3-4 Sleep quality 4 We would definitely consider returning. Regards,

JB 07/12

Can Simoneta is the definition of understated exclusivity. We absolutely loved the quality of the overall offering, including the reserved nature of the staff. They were there to help you when you needed them, but otherwise left you alone to enjoy the peace and tranquility of our time there. It really enhanced the sense of calm and added considerably to our enjoyment of our time there. It was as relaxing a holiday as one can imagine! We shall recommend to others, and intend to return! Many thanks for recommending and for organizing for us. Service: 4 Food: 4 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes
