HOTELS

Hello
Our time away was magical!

Here are our ratings:
Service: 5
Food: 5
Cleanliness: 5 (exceptional)
Value for money: 5
Sleep quality: 5

We would love to stay again!

Please can you send a few links with other similar hotels on the island for us to consider as well for next year? We would like the same standard as Casal Santa Eulalia. I do recall a gorgeous looking hotel on the beach on your website – I think it was a spa hotel. I am looking to book a stay mid-July. I would certainly re book Casal Santa Eulalia but equally keen to try other places as well. We are not keen on hectic resorts, we want an unspoilt Mallorcan experience as we had when we travelled with you last month.

Many thanks

Hey Henrik - thanks for checking. We had a great holiday & much needed!

On ratings for the hotel, service, cleanliness all very good so let’s say 5. On food - we didn’t have dinner there, breakfast was decent but nothing special, and we had some lunch in the bar which was not very good, so maybe a 3-4. Overall I liked the place very much. The only real issue I had was the beds - the mattresses were poor quality. Otherwise the room was spacious, and the airco worked well and was handy given the temperatures. So that means in terms of value for money / sleep quality I’d rate them a 3. Added all up, it comes out quite low although that doesn’t really represent the experience I had there which was overall very positive.

Cheers,

Hi Henrik, The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the service fantastic.  The only issue we had was that the room we booked (junior Suite) wasn’t available.  We were ‘upgraded’ to a better suite but this was right overlooking the very fast and noisy road, making use of the terrace impossible.  (it was less than 100m away - like sitting next to a motorway!!!)  We asked if we could change rooms at some point in the week but this wasn’t possible so we ended up swapping with one of my daughters and getting effectively ‘downgraded'!!!  This is partly our fault as we could see from the reviews that some people had mentioned the road - my husband is extremely sensitive to road noise and living in the South East of England, it was something we try to get away from on holiday. We also didn’t realise that the tapas bar is only open in the day so the restaurant is the only evening option. I’m not sure I’d recommend the restaurant for families as the food, whilst brilliant is expensive and quite ‘adult’. These slight disappointments were countered by the excellent service, the large, clean, rooms and beautiful setting. Service:  5, Food:  5, Cleanliness: 5, VFM: 4, Sleep Quality: 3, Many thanks for all your help

The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and couldn't be more helpful. All played a part in making our stay a memorable one. The hotel is set in wonderful grounds, with well maintained pools having plenty of available loungers; the facilities are good quality and available. The food is of a very high standard and an extensive selection greets you every morning with availability throughout the day. Well recommended.  Service: 5 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4  Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? I would heartily recommend this to a friend

Dear Henrik, The hotel staff were excellent and the hotel itself was high quality, especially the breakfast.  Evening dinner was also superb, a fine dining experience.  A nice place for a short break if you don't want to venture too far from the sunbed.  How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service:  5 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 3/4 - Petit Eulalia across the road from the main hotel doesn't really allow you to feel part of the hotel, it's very separate.  Also the road noise is dreadful - it was very busy and sitting by the pool was not really a relaxing experience.  In the main hotel you can't hear it as much because of the layout.  The sunbeds at the Petit Eulalia pool were of poor quality, cheap, many broken and ripped.  The main pool had really lovely beds, good quality and comfy.  Sleep quality:3  - we had a baby in the next door room which cried throughout the night and we could hear everything - not really what we'd planned! Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? - not really - it's not in a great location.  C'an Picafort isn't very nice, mass tourism and rather unsightly. Thank you

Hi, Sorry for the delay in replying, I have just been very busy. We really enjoyed our stay at Casal Santa Eulalia. The best thing about it was the food. Definitely the best we have had in that part of Majorca. The service was good but I think the staff were a little stretched. At first we were a little disappointed to have such a busy road running through the middle of the hotel but it didn't spoil our stay in the end. One of the rooms stank of cigar smoke (why do people do that - I feel for the hotel) but the hotel did change the room immediately when we complained. There are 3 pools & the main pool was lovely but the other two were quite green ( the weather had been a bit stormy so maybe this was why?). On the whole though I would give 5/5 for the points you listed & would recommend to friends. The reason we go to that area at that time is because of the classic yacht race my husband takes part in. The organisers don't tend to finalise details until May so we won't know until May 2015 if it is definitely Alcudia again. If it is I will contact you & we might try to stay at the Casal Santa Eulalia again. On another note it is my 25th wedding anniversary July 11th 2015. We were thinking of getting some of our closest friends to join us in Ibiza. I had been looking at large villas but wondered if you had anything that might be suitable. Maybe we could take over a smaller hotel ? It's difficult for me to be precise on numbers at the moment but I had been looking at 10 bedroom villas. Best Regards

Yes Thank you. Lovely stay! Very tranquil, excellent service, accommodated all my requirements. Delicious food! Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes, would also come back myself! Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay?

Hi Henrik, We had a wonderful holiday in Mallorca – thank you for providing such useful advice The first hotel Casal Santa Eulalia Service: 5 Food: 4.5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 4.5 Sleep quality: 4.5 Wonderful hotel with beautiful grounds and swimming pools. Extremely luxurious room (we upgraded to a larger suite with a huge terrace). The room was cleaned every day and had little extras like fruit, biscuits, moisturisers etc. The staff were wonderful and extremely friendly especially with the children. We spent a lot of time at the pool which was super clean, large and very quiet. The tapas bar next to the pool was excellent too. The only small improvement would have been that the room was so big that the air conditioning did not quite cool the room enough. We loved it and would definitely return The next hotel Son Sant Jordi Service: 3Food: 3 Cleanliness: 3 Value for money: 3 Sleep quality: 4 Great location and really lovely people that owned the hotel. Our room was at the top of the annex and was quite big but with low ceilings. The air-conditioning in our room was great and kept us very cool. The service was excellent when the family were there but there were big chunks of the day when the family was not around so we could not get drinks or food. Also the room was not cleaned each day or clean towels provided. I think it is more like an apartment than a hotel – so quite expensive given that. However it was a lovely place to stay and as I said, the service was excellent most of the time Hope that is helpful Best regards

Bon jour Henrik, Yes, we had a nice holiday, just the weather was very bad, only two day’s from seven quit ok, the rest windy, rain, cold! Which means, no pools where open, Tapas Bar at the pool’s closed as well. And the little Spa only to use on reservations. But the hotel was very nice. So my ratings for the Service: 4 The food, breakfast: 5 Evening Dinner: 3/4 Food was good, but no additionell card to chose, only menue. Cleanliness: 4 Value for money: 4 Sleep quality: 4 (not enough blankets, because of the weather quit cold) We would recommend the hotel to friends, and we need to try again, when the weather is nice, this makes a big difference.

Overview

An ancient stately home. The privilege of peace and quiet. The Santa Eulàlia farmhouse is documented as dating back to the year 1242, when it was listed as one of the possessions of the Count of Empúries. Since then this important stately home in the north-west of Mallorca has experienced a series of historical upheavals and family events that have marked its noble existence and have enriched its outstanding artistic and cultural heritage.

The Hotel Casal de Santa Eulàlia is one of the island’s unique features. An elegant historic estate that has been renovated to preserve all is stately Majorcan character. In addition, its setting, very close to the lovely beaches of the bay of Alcudia, allows the visitor to enjoy an idyllic views and an atmosphere of peace and quiet where silence and nature take centre stage.

Alongside the hotel is Petit Santa Eulàlia, another cosy, welcoming option featuring studies that afford all the comforts of the Casal. The perfect place for guests wanting to organise their own holiday. All the apartments are fitted out with a small kitchen.

The cuisine that can be savoured in the Es Casal restaurant is a true treat for the senses: the kitchen team harnesses all their creativity, elaborating tiny works of art based on Mediterranean cooking and using traditional produce from the hotel’s own ecological garden. Our guests have the chance to sample our exquisite dishes either under the mediaeval vaults covering the roof of the restaurant or on its charming terrace.

The Albufera nature park, the archaeological remains at Son Real, the beaches in Alcúdia bay, Formentor cape, the caves in Artà and the Phoenician remains in Son Bauló are just some of the beautiful places to visit in this region. Plus, the tiny inland villages still retain all the charm of the quiet life and reveal to travellers the secrets of their traditional cuisine.
