HOTELS

We had a  splendid holiday. 5/5 for everything.
It is a perfect hotel. The family is charming and nothing is too much trouble.
the grounds are beautiful as is the pool.
The later is never crowded and is perfect after a morning's sightseeing.
The breakfast was the best we have ever had.
Breads ,cakes, jams and sausage made on the farm and delicious coffee.
The restaurant has recently reopened and the food is typically Mallorcan and delicious
We had delicious meals at Portopetra and S'Horta Taxis are relatively cheap if you want to try the Mallorcan wines!!
All in all, we would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly

We thought Na Martina was lovely as were the owner family, and staff. Ideally placed on the edge of a Nature Reserve and within easy walking distance of Cala Mondrago, and within reach of  other beautiful coves. Since no dinners available there we went some of those nearby. All a bi the same and nowhere outstanding but fine for us.Perhaps not as exciting as the North but pleased to have been to the SE of the island.

How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating:

Service:5
Food: N/A but picnics were fine; about 3-4
Cleanliness: 5
Value for money: 4-5
Sleep quality:5

Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Certainly

Hi Henrik,
Thanks for organising our accommodation and great advice on the holiday.
We had 5 nights at Na Martina which we loved. The room with kitchenette was ideal and the accommodation was characterful and spacious.
The swimming pool was never busy and the facilities all very clean and well organised. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast with a range of authentic Spanish cuisine and local produce. It was a shame the restaurant had closed due to lack of a chef. The walk to Porto Petro (though quite hot!) was 25mins with some excellent restaurants though fairly expensive; the local beach ‘cafe’ on Cala Mondrago was unexpectedly good and more reasonably priced.
The local beach is beautiful and very convenient though very busy. We managed an early morning swim once so were able to appreciate it with out all the people.

The holiday was wonderful and we would definitely return to Mallorca.

Thanks again,

Hi Henrik,

just to let you know, I will come back with feedback (very positive), just need to get through school start!

Would you like to write a couple of general sentences about your stay?

Na Martina feels like a secret gem nestled within the Mallorcan coastline. Maria and Miguel were incredibly welcoming from the moment I arrived and went out of their way on many occasions; this was my first trip alone with my son, and I felt as if I was staying with friends. My son loved the animals and the salt water pool and the delicious home made jam. The food was just incredible, so fresh and made with such love, my only complaint is that I couldn’t eat there every night! Maria is a truly excellent chef. I am already working out when we can come back, and we will bring friends with us. I am lucky enough to have traveled extensively and can say hand on heart this place is pure magic.

Hi Henrik

We had a wonderful stay at Na Martina. It was a little dated in places, but we loved the atmosphere, people, service, food etc. The rooms we had didn’t suit our family, but we spoke to the hotel at the end of our stay and identified different rooms should we go to the area again. We would definitely go back, for the hotel and the local area.

Kind regards

We really enjoyed our three night stay at Na Martini. The attention to detail was first class, the owners and staff were lovely and the location ideal for exploring on foot and by car many of the delightful little coves and inlets in the vicinity. Everything deserves a five star rating.

Many thanks - Rural hotels Mallorca comes up trumps again.

Na Martina is one of those special places, friendly and restful where you feel part of the family, yet free and independent. A high standard of attractive accommodation with beds to match.   Nestled in the conservation area of Mondrago the surroundings offer walks in nature and swimming in small bays.   The tranquillity of the location and the peaceful grounds, Na Martina offers a serenity that is both relaxed and elegant.

Kind regards

Hi Henrik,

Na Martina is 5 stars for everything! We loved this hotel. The owners and staff were warm and welcoming and there had been a lot of thought put into every detail to provide guests a comfortable stay.

The breakfasts were delicious, and we especially loved the daily homemade cakes, jams and other farm produce :)

We had an excellent stay.  The staff worked tirelessly to make sure the guests were happy.  The only grumble we had was the use of power tools (chain saw, leaf blower etc.) outside when guests were having breakfast. This happened on 2/3 mornings during our stay and understandably was very disruptive.  Otherwise, we were happy with everything.

Regards,

Hi Henrik
Just wanted to say thanks for helping us to arrange our holiday. We had such a lovely time! Na Martina is beautiful and tranquil and perfectly situated between the beach and a small town. The family who run it are so kind, helpful and relaxed, we had a really lovely holiday!
Thanks again

Hello Henrik

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Na Martina .
Everything was 5 star .
I’ve written a note below .

Thanks so much for all your speedy and helpful correspondence . I was very impressed with rural hotels and will definitely use you again .

We had a wonderful stay at Na Martina .
The staff were just fantastic , could not have been more friendly and helpful .
Due to last minute covid changes in my schedule I had to change dates and they were so accommodating with room changes . I even had an upgrade to a little cottage for no extra charge as this is what they had available .
The location is great if you like peace and quiet and away from the tourist crowds ( we do ) . It is  10 min walk from a lovely local beach and 5 min drive from a small coastal town with good restaurants .
I would recommend a car if you want to explore the island .
The pool was never busy and we loved swimming at night under the stars .
We had such a lovely relaxing holiday here , I would highly recommend .

Best wishes

Hi Henrik, Lovely time again – bit busy but here we go xx Will book for next year v soon xxx

Hi Henrik, Always love staying at Na Martina! This was our second stay at Na Martina and we love it’s location for the beach, the free bike hire, delicious dinners and easy access to Porto Petro if you just want to have a change and watch the boats. It’s hard to be beat! Tiny gripes are the lack of freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast and the double rooms that are two singles pushed together and made up as singles. When you’re celebrating your wedding anniversary and at this price point I’d expect a comfy king size or zip and link beds at the least! Service is always fabulous. How would you rate the following from 1-5 where 5 is the best rating: Service: 5, Food: 4 - dinners are wonderful and breakfast is varied and tasty BUT definitely lacking fresh Majorcan orange juice! Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 3 - the double rooms have 2 single beds pushed together but made separately. I think that needs to be rectified. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes. Best

Hi Henrik, Thank you for your help in organising our accommodation, we had a brilliant trip, with a good mix of hiking and relaxing by the pool/sea. Please find our reviews below for the two hotels.
NaMartina: Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 5 Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Absolutely! This is an amazing place with beautiful grounds, rooms, pool area and amazing food (most if which is from their farm). We felt so welcome here. It is a top quality, clean and well organised hotel with great facilities. The nearby cove beaches (although busy) are stunning and easily walkable in ten minutes, go early in the morning for a less busy beach experience. The breakfast at NaMartina is delicious and has so many options. The evening meal is also divine (make sure you book your time slot with them so you don’t miss out. No dinner on Sunday and Wednesdays so be prepared to explore nearby porto petro, cala dor or more inland towns. We chose not to hire a car so walked to porto petro (20 mins) and got a taxi back (7euro). The family who own, live in, and run this agroturisomo have done an amazing job, they are clearly very passionate about this place and it shows. Its inspired us to stay in more agroturismos in the future. Hope to return to this beautiful authentic piece of Mallorca!
Fornalutx Petit Hotel: Service: 5, Food: 4, Cleanliness: 4, Value for money: 4, Sleep quality: 5, Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes. This hotel was a really good base for exploring the local towns and the tramuntana mountains. Perfectly located in the centre of town, very close to the local restaurants (try the new-ish MOLON - it is the best place we ate all holiday) and bakery (small but beautiful ran by one woman -highly recommend buying lunch here). Fornalutx is a stunning village, and near to lovely binniarix which is walkable in 25mins (road route) - 1hr30. The receptionist was so welcoming and extremely informative about local walks and places to see, and also booked boat trips and multiple taxis for us. We had paid for breakfast but had to leave before 8:30am (breakfast start) on the final day, so we let them know in advance and they made us a breakfast the day before and put it in our fridge which was great. The view from the gardens down in the valley and up to the mountains is fantastic and a lovely place to spend anafternoon after walking the mountains (beware the pool is in the shade from around 11am is so is extremely cold) - wouldn't book this hotel if you are looking for a pool holiday but it was fine to dip the feet and it did look beautiful. The only things which were negative about this stay were the fact that the room had very little storage (but I think this might just have been our room), we had to climb a little wooden ladder into a raised cove and there was a rail but not enough room to hang anything longer than a tshirt, and then there was a linen ikea hanging shelf thing which was not very useful. Other than this there was nowhere to store anything which we really struggled with as we had a weeks worth of stuff including hiking clothes and summer clothes. There was no drawers to store anything. It would be a massive improvement  if in this room they could add set of drawers and bedside tables with storage in them (we appreciate there probably isn't enough room for a full length wardrobe). The other thing is that the room and bathroom weren’t the cleanest. There were hairs and dust around. To be honest it didn’t bother us as we didn’t spend much time in the room so we didn’t complain at the time, but compared to NaMartina the cleaning was below standard for the price of the hotel and people will expect better. Thank you to the brilliant receptionist and breakfast lady who were so helpful and friendly. Thank you!  Best wishes,

Hi Henrik, We had a most enjoyable trip to Mallorca, and I thought you would be interested to hear about our experiences. The Na Martina is quite superb and the owners and staff charming and very caring, the restaurant is now open 6 nights a week and excellent, but after the first night we shared the main courses as the helpings were huge! The ethos of the working farm and hotel is fascinating and was a very enjoyable experince. We found the Es Bergant in Puerto Petra and the fish Paella was the best we had eaten that is until we had a special at Na Martina of mixed Paella, we agreed the fish was the best of it's type an so was the mixed paella, so honours even. Another lunch at Es Bergant was equally brilliant I had the Sunday special of Suckling Pig and my wife the giant prawns. We enjoyed our stay at San Lorenzo, and for your interest found an excellent authentic Mallorcan restaurant not far from the hotel called Ca'n Toni, again huge portions but lovely rustic Spanish cuisine. Also a great little slightly modern tapas bar Gaudeix, just round the corner from the hotel. Many thank your recommendations were excellent and descriptions of everything were exactly what we envisaged. Best wishes,

Dear Henrik, I’m sorry for the delay in replying- nearly ready for another holiday! We had a lovely relaxing time on Mallorca again, thank you for all your help and recommendations. We stayed at Na Martina for the first week and loved the hotel’s setting. The owners and staff couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant - really a lovely place to be. I’d say: Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 4, Sleep quality: 3. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes definitely. We returned to the Son Sant Jordi for the second week- we really love this hotel and its lovely family owners and staff. Pollença is wonderful and I can see it becoming a favourite! I’d say: Service: 5, Food: 5, Cleanliness: 5, Value for money: 4, Sleep quality: 5. Would you recommend the hotel to a friend? Yes definitely. I think it’s likely we’ll want to go to Mallorca again next year - maybe trying some self catering type options next time- so we’ll be in touch for your help! With thanks and very best wishes.

Hi Henrik, So sorry for the delay in replying.  Back to school now so finally have some spare minutes! We had an amazing holiday and loved Majorca.  We think we selected two great areas to stay in. Secondly Na Martina, Service:5, Food:5, Cleanliness:5, Value for money: 5, Sleep quality: 5. We loved this hotel.  So nice to be near the beach but to have a haven to return to after the beach crowds! The food was amazing as was the attention to detail.  We didn’t want to leave.  They were unbelievably friendly with the children too. Firstly Can Reus. Service:4 There wasn’t always a member of staff around to ask anything but those we met were friendly. Food: 5, Cleanliness:5, Value for money:4, Sleep quality: 3 Sorry.  I do not have back problems but had really bad backache from the bed. I would however recommend this unique hotel for its location and pool. Many thanks again for an amazing holiday.

Hi, Just wanted to say belatedly that the three fincas were great - many thanks for your help and recommendations. Loved both Na Martina and Vall de Pollenca. Only small point is that I think that the one near Arta that we stayed in could have improved its food (El Encinar). Cook was a lovely lady but food rather basic and over salted compared with the other two we stayed in. Though place was lovely. Food at the other two and everything else was fantastic. Will recommend you to others if I hear anyone else is heading that way.

JD 07/18

Many thanks Henrik. We had a great time – one night only at Es Figueral and 2 at Na Martina – too short for a really profound assessment. Both,  were very friendly and welcoming and scored well in all 5 areas noted in your e-mail. Sleep quality better at Na Martina than Es Figueral, but we arrived there on a rather dark and rainy evening. Breakfast at Es Figueral exceptional and room and bathroom as well as the pool at Na Martina equally so. We’d happily return to either. We enjoyed the beautiful and in some cases talkative birds at Es Figueral and the general location and environment at Na Martina. We’ll certainly keep your details on file for future trips to Mallorca and Menorca and pass them on to friends where appropriate. Greetings

Hi Henrik, Thank you for your email. We are enjoying our last day in Palma before heading back tomorrow afternoon. I've completed my rating and comments for you below. Thank for you helping us find yet another exceptional place to stay in Mallorca! Na Martina really is a gem, and I must say better than their website which is rare to find. Anyway, thank you again and no doubt we'll be in touch again! Have a lovely weekend.

KG 07/17

Hi Hendrick, No problem, Na Martina was also very nice, great hosts and lovely food. To be honest we were not that keen on the area so wouldn't go there again, the beaches were so crowded and there wasn't much else to do once we had seen Portopueto and Santyani which were lovely  but I think we were just in love with the west coast and so no where else was going to be as nice. Vall de Pollenca was lovely, the managers were great. The room we paid for was tiny and too small for us, the shower was not good with a bad shower head which I would suggest they replace but otherwise it was lovely but we decided to have our last night on the west coast. The food was exceptional and we loved it so much that we had dinner there the whole time except the first night. So all is all a lovely hotel but if we stayed there again we would pay for a larger room. Both hotels were clean and we had value for money. We are thinking of coming back for a few nights in early December and so do you have any fincas or hotels in the Deia area? All the best

Hi Henrik, Still catching up on emails so apologies for the delay! We had a fabulous fortnight! I wouldn’t like to rate the hotels because they were all slightly different and all of a very high quality. For bikers hot baths everywhere was a huge bonus and the availability of the most delicious fresh orange juice (which makes a great ‘energy drink’ mixed with agua con gaz!) was also a delight. Beds everywhere were EXTREMELY comfortable and all rooms very quiet. Probably our favourite ‘finca’ by a slim margin was at Cala Monrago where Miguel showed me round his animals with huge enthusiasm (I was also a farmer in a former life!) and the coves in that area re spectacular!! His produce – cheese and sobrasada – is wonderful and he prides himself greatly on this! We loved the ride through the centre of the island especially after the strenuous climbs in the Tramuntana – 10 miles steeply forwards to go almost a mile UPWARDS out of Soller!! Mallorca is NOT a cheap destination but what you get is TOP quality. I would certainly go back. Weather was fine although, it seems, not actually as hot as it was in January? Ses Salines was the only finca with a swimming pool up and running to temperature and for me this was the only minor disappointment, although I swam there several times and really enjoyed it!! I see from you info that you operate in Tuscany too? We would certainly be interested in doing something similar in Tuscany and in Menorca although my one reservation would be that Menorca is quite a bit smaller and Mallorca is ideal size to spend a fortnight cycle-touring and still feel there is more to discover. Menorca might feel slightly limited? You also have Palma, which is a good sized city with plenty to see and do and beautiful to boot! We left our bike bags at the quirky Dalt Murana in the old bit of Palma which was very pleasant too. Great trip!! Keep in touch Henrik and thanks for all your help!

Hello Henrik, We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Mallorca and feel that splitting our time between the two areas was perfect. Thank you for suggesting these hotels and the information about local restaurants / beaches was really useful. Na Martina Food 4, buffet breakfast was nice but didn't have full choice range for duration of breakfast time ( we didn't arrive late for breakfast!!) When available the home made cheeses and yoghurt were lovely. Cleanliness 5, our room was very clean.  Sleep quality 3, we had 2 single beds pushed together and only one pillow each. value for money 4. The hotel was lovely, the setting was beautiful.  The staff were very friendly and helpful; knowledgeable about local area, offering suggestions for walks and best beaches. We would recommend Na Martina to friends and will consider returning. Can Verdera Food 3. Nice buffet breakfast but choice fairly limited. Any extras were an additional cost. Mineral water in rooms was expensive! Cleanliness 5. Our room was impeccably clean and the communal areas all lovely. Sleep Quality 5. Our bed was large and very comfortable. Value for money 4.  Can Verdera is a lovely hotel in a stunning location, the views from pool and garden bar terraces were breathtaking! Staff were really friendly and helpful, we left very early on our last day and offered breakfast/ coffee before we left. We definitely intend to return and would recommend the hotel to friends.  The walks around Fornalutx are spectacular but challenging, not for the faint hearted!! Regards

Dear Henrik, It was simply perfect. We would score 5 for all of the areas that you have listed. The owner Miguel is lovely, he is so interested in sharing info about the food you are eating and where it comes from. We ate at Na Martina on two nights and they were both superb, great food and wine. We also really enjoyed the breakfasts, lots to choose from and nothing was ever too much trouble. We would def recommend the hotel to friends and we may well go back. Thanks so much for suggesting it and I would say its perfect for anyone who would like a real taste of Majorca Regards

Service: 5 Food: 5 Cleanliness: 5 Value for money: 5 Sleep quality:5 Yes I would recommend it to our friends . If you want absolute peace this the place for you . Hi Henrik, Thanks for your email We had a great holiday, both properties were really comfortable We didnt really want to move from Na Martina as we enjoyed it that much. But on arrival at Son Palou we were instantly comfortable I would recommend both to friends I cannot fault either so would have to say that they scored 5 on all your points Few words Na Martina A very comfortable hotel within a short distance of a small beach that was great for early morning swims and walks. Within a short drive of Porto Petro where there are some good restaurants. Very quiet with a nice pool. Owners very friendly and amenable Son Palou A spectacular location with good walks in the area. Friendly staff, great food with some good estaurants within very short walk. Extreemly quiet area which suited us. A beautiful hotel. Thanks Henrik we would recomend ruralhotelsmallorca to any of our friends Cheers

CD 06/13

Hello Henrik, Our stay at Na Martina was wonderful, but it didn't get off to the best of starts!  On arrival, Miguel informed us that there wasn't a room available for us on the first night, as he had confused the checkout date of the previous guests. That said, he was very apologetic, and had reserved a room for us at a lovely hotel in nearby Porto Petro. Not ideal, but he really couldn't have done more for us, taking us to the hotel, settling the account and ensuring that we were ok. So our 4 nights at Na Martina became just 3. But the hotel, location, service and friendliness of our hosts just could not be faulted. I would score 5/5 for all areas you ask, from the homemade Yogurts and jams at breakfast to the wonderful walks to some of the loveliest beaches and scenery on the island. Our room had views to the sea from one terrace and to the mountains from the other. I would definitely recommend Na Martina to a friend, but selfishly might want to keep the secret all to myself! We stayed 8 nights in total on Mallorca, having already booked 4 nights at S'Olivaret (where we have stayed before) before I was aware of your company. We love Mallorca and will certainly use Rural Hotels Mallorca for future trips. Thank you,

DB 06/13

Overview

Na Martina is a charming rural hotel in the outskirts of the beautiful natural park Cala Mondrago in the southern parts of the island. This family-run hotel offers you the opportunity to experience the genuine Mallorca in beautiful natural surroundings.

There are three types of rooms at Na Martina and all are charmingly furnished and decorated with a personal touch of elegance and romance which will make your stay unforgettable. The design blends perfectly with the natural environment and offers natural light from the sun and open views towards the sea and the mountains.

When it comes to dinner time Miquel Angel and Maria Josep are the creators of the various menus which are prepared with the best products from the hotel's orchard and farm, providing scents, flavours and textures irresistible to the palate. They will also happily share with you their traditional recipes of how to cook up some of these lovely traditional dishes such as trampó…

The estate Na Martina is located just 900 meters from the lovely beaches Cala Mondragó and s’Amarador, and 2 km from the picturesque harbour Portopetro, where we, by the way, can recommend you a fantastic restaurant for paella in case you are interested… About 5 minutes’ drive from the hotel you can also reach the beaches Es Caló des Burgit, Sa Barca Trencada, Es Caló de Sa Torre and Es Caló dels Homes Morts.
