Iberdrola Open golf tournament cancelled

Due to a lack of corporate sponsors, sadly the Iberdrola Open golf tournament, has been cancelled.

The tournament was scheduled to go ahead between May 11th and 13th, but the promoters failed to find a major sponsor and so cannot put on the event. See picture above for the happy winner of last year’s event: Darren Clarke.

This is such a shame as the tournament is a popular reason to head to the island of Mallorca in May and the weather is so lovely at that time of year. If you are a golf fan, then never fear, there are plenty of excellent and scenic golf courses open and available to play out during the month of May.
