Cycling in Mallorca

Posted: Saturday, 2nd March 2024

Majorca is a great place for cycling and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Discovering the island on two wheels is a fantastic way to see everything close up and there are many cycling paths specifically for that purpose. Whether you are in a group or on your own, there is definitely a cycling route to suit everyone.

The weather in Majorca is very conducive to cycling most of the year round. The warm temperature and sea breeze make it a very comfortable way to explore the beaches and mountain or rural regions.

Majorca has 1,250 kilometres of roads, of which 700 kilometres connect the different cities and towns over mountains and plains, making the network very accesible for cyclists. In fact, around 55,000 cycle tourists (both professional athletes and keen amateurs) visit the island each year – hence why the island is so well equipped with appropriate roads and many different cycling tours. Not to mention the variety of terrain to entice; flat plains, rolling hills, long climbs, perfect road conditions, not much traffic and a beautiful landscape to look at.
